Default Sticking with the gay theme

This stems from a conversation inspired by the gay porn thread.

If you had to be thought one very extreme side of the sexual fence or the other, which would you rather have people say: "he/she's, a total slut for the opposite sex" or
"he/she gets so little he must be gay/lesbian" ?

NO FLAMES, PLEASE. We all know people talk about these things behind people's backs. This is not a conversation about what is the better choice, gay or straight.

Just, how would you rather be known if you HAVE to be known one way?

I think a little air of mystery is better than being thought of as a slut. I have no respect for sluts; they serve only one purpose. Bang em and send em on their way. I wouldn't want to be perceived that way personally. So, I'd rather have people wonder about my sexual preferences.

I don't get involved with other people's private lives. What they do on their time away from me is none of my concern.

although this is not a conversation about being gay or straight. i would say being straight is better since the holes line up.

I would rather have people think of me as a hoebag.

I worked somewhere once where rumors (mostly related to my refusal to date any men I worked with) created this big story that I was gay. I was blacklisted.

"This is the 2000's. People don't behave like that!! No one's that closed-minded," you say. Well, you're wrong.

I wasn't invited anywhere and I never got any dates. The guys stayed far away and I never met any new ones. This continued even after, on a dare, I kissed a guy I worked with at a party and ended up dating another one very very briefly (he realized I liked men and the rumors were wrong.)

So anyways, my hoochie friends were always treated better than lil ol me who wouldn't give it up.

I remember when it was "The 90's" and things were supposed to be different. I also remember "Hey, it's a New Century!"......like it matters what year it is.

i'm with funker here (again). i personally do not care how people perceive me at all. but if people thought i were a slut, then they would act upon it and harass the hell out of me. i value my private life and do not go out looking for drama of any sorts.

as for being thought of as gay or a slut - yes it did happen in highschool and that was a little rough, but whatever. no one can seem to make up their minds about me.

nowadays i like playing with both sides of my sexuality. i like the masculine and the feminine traits i posess and will flaunt these traits when i feel like it.

Manlove would be difficult since vibe is a girl and I'm a guy.

There is a difference between actually being gay and not being scared or offended of the thought of being gay.

I know I'm straight so if people want to think I am gay that is fine with me. But I wouldn't mind being called a man whore more often. I get called it occasionally. It does a lot for your self-esteem.

So someone thinks you're gay. Who cares?!? If you're that offended by someone thinking you're gay than you have major issues, many of them with your own sexuality.

I'm with vibe as usual on the masculine/feminine thing.. I do, however, unfortunately, like to fit in and please people, as we all have done in some way at some point. And since my experience suggests that it is easier to fit in slutty than gay....well.....I think it's pretty sad that people received me badly when they thought I didn't like guys.....

The bottom line is, it's always interesting to hear what other people think about pereceptions, because even if you don't care about what other people think, you still some times notice what they think or say.

I think I lot of people already assume I'm gay -> clean-cut, neat, in shape. Also, I keep my dating life separate from my family (I don't tell them anything) so I suspect that they're starting to wonder if I am gay.

So, I don't really care if people think I'm gay - it only takes me about 2 seconds to prove that I'm not.

Dude, gay or straight, there's therapy and medication that can help that.
