Default bobditts 2014 Bluebaru audio build

Hi all, figured Id start a build log since my project is slowly rolling. Here is my plan of attack...

Audio Mods
- JBL MS-8 (utilize stock radio - already "modded" to defeat the loudness and EQ in the hidden menus)
- JBL MS-A1004
- JBL MS-A5001
- JBL GTO1514
- OZ Audio Matrix Elite 1" Silk Dome tweeters
- FatialPRO 3" mid range
- Focal 165 KF 6.5" mid bass

Subwoofer will be installed in the spare tire well along with the amps and processor under a false floor. It will appear as stock as possible - stealth look.

I need some help deciding which false floor cover to go with. Option A is pretty simple. Option B is a play on a logo (if anyone can tell me what it resembles then they win). The red circles are where the sub will be underneath. Keep in mind that whichever option I go with, it will be hidden under the cargo utility mat to appear stock.

Option A

Option B

here is the equipment in order from left to right (MS8 DSP, A1004 amp, 5001 amp)

here is the car

what do you mean by ghetto? they are not finished products. Just planning phases. Real size mock ups.

Maybe you lack vision... his end result could look something like this with either design.

update with pictures. did some Raammat work. Set the sub in place and took some pics of possible amp/dsp layout.

ground location

This is most likely the amp/dsp layout I will be going with. Should match well with the play on the AF logo

bolling AFB. Cyber security. Its a play on the logo and it will be changing a bit. That was just a prototype. The car is blue (while not AF blue) it is fitting. Just made TSgt so it all fits.

This could turn out nice although I'm confused as to why you would sacrifice both the spare tire AND trunk space when you could just as easily tuck the sub behind the wheel well and keep the spare

Don't need a spare tire when I have 3 different road side assistance options to choose from. I will be losing minimal cargo space as the floor is being raised a couple inches. Wouldn't be able to fit the 15" behind the tire well as it requires 1.5 cubic feet. It would stick out too far and defeat the purpose. Another reason is i'm going for the stealth install. When its all said and done, the stock rubber cargo mat will be what you see.

The FaitialPRO 3"s arrived today. So tiny. They make the 4"s I have look like giants. That's the difference of a neo magnet. Love it. Anyways, here are some pictures.

focal 6.5s and the 3"s

backsides. so shiny.

3"s drop right in where the stock tweets are.

stock tweet vs 3"s

Do those FaitialPRO 3"s line up with the stock tweeter holes on your dash?

not without some modification. I dont plan on doing so anyways. Im going to build a small pod with a more open grille to allow sound to travel more easily and to fit the tweeter also.

Your planning to run the 3 inch speaker and a tweeter from that dash location?

It's a manufacturing term. Meaning those amps are huge, and not reflecting the current state of amps to be smaller, modular, etc... Pretty they are, flexible in mounting options they are not.

Be interested to see that. You have the same exact car as mine. Seems you must have some good taste.

little progress today. Laid down some home depot sound barrier over the raammat.

Also finished up this project for the wife. Its a wine cork holder. Obviously she has a bit more drinking to do to fill this up with corks.

Had a few hours to work on the sub enclosure. Just got the basic shape completed and glassed the bottom. Still have to cut out the corners to fit the amps, some bracing, and the top baffle.
