Default Advice needed

Just purchased a 2011 Wrx. Car has grimspeed boost control solenoid and cold air intake with full turbo back exhaust.

The two things that concern me is that it backfires more than regular and the turbo spools pretty late. The dealership said it had been tuned before. Although I'm thinking he may have unmarried it once sold.

Thoughts?

Take it to a reputable shop (with a tuner) who can give you a rundown on what exactly is going on in the ECU, and they might find other parts you could have missed. I would do this sooner than later.

Well, backfiring isn't really ever regular. Go by an AP and put on a OTS stage 2 map, you probably are just running rich.

before a bunch of angry people attack you as they like to do on nasioc, its most probably afterfire, not backfire. backfire = exploded car, afterfire= popping sounds out your exhaust. Thats probably just due to the tune being rich and not having the stock muffler, if any at all. Not an issue whatsoever almost all the time, but obviously Im not looking at your car and doing a real diagnostic. Also Im not a mechanic, I just read a lot of unabomber posts lol. You need to get your car into a tuner and make sure your tune is proper for your mods regardless, especialy because of the cai.

Thank you guys! I'm looking at getting a tune as soon as possible. Just more worried on why it boosts so late. But from what I'm reading it could be from a lot of reasons.

Grimmspeed boost controller REQUIRES a tune. It's probably bleeding off pressure causing you to lose boost down low.

Keep it out of boost, drive it gingerly. Get it to a tuner this weekend if you're working during the week.

Side note, you should disable that signature the iPhone app turns on by default.
