I can tell you one thing's for sure.....you're wasting your time with the Palm. Sorry to say but either use a laptop or wait for the UTECLogger

The Palm software just won't work properly for you to datalog and tune your car.

We used a Palm M100 with the UTEC. The software we trialled was Online(tm) (www.markspace.com).

I'm not at work so I am working off my memory at the moment.

1. You will need to make or buy a 9 way D type male to male cross over cable. To build one you need 2 male 9 way D type connectors. Then wire as follows;

Connector 1 ----- Connector 2

Pin 2 --------------- Pin 3
Pin 3 --------------- Pin 2
Pin 5 --------------- Pin 5

2. Setup the Online(tm) software to 4800 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit and no parity. Turn off the display to follow the cursor option.

3. Make sure you turn on Online(tm) by tapping LOG IN or ON (not sure about the exact name)

4. If the UTEC is on then enter a "space" or "ESC" or "cntrl-x" to access the home menu

The Palm will work at 19200 baud. It just can't cope with continuous data at this rate.

regards

Glad you got it working.

I don't think you will be able to find a VT100 program for the Palm(tm) that will display the whole screen. The screen on the Palm(tm) is just a bit too small.

The UTEC default is 19200 baud. This can be set to 4800 but you need to do with your desktop PC running at 19200.

If your baud rates are mismatched this will cause strange characters.
