Talking UTECLogger software (more pix)

Well I'm nearing completion of the first beta. I decided to add a few more small features and ran into a few issues with the current design but things are going well so far.

Here are some more screen shots of the beta (which should be ready next week).

Let me know if you have any questions. Some of you might be wondering what the wbo2 stuff is doing in there. Well, I have a use for it myself. I'm including the ability to import FJO log files to compare and overlap the UTEC logs along with individual or combined charting.

Enjoy!!

Nice

That should make things go much easier when analyzing/changing maps than using the hyperterminal crap.

Not yet. My hardware guy has been gone for a week. We decided to change the type of memory chips we're using to store the data. We're building a new unit which will use CF cards for storage. Its actually much easier than using NVRAM or flashable SDRAM since the memory controller is on the card and we only need 7pins to hook it up to the PIC.

I'll post some pix when I get 'em

Doesn't this make your packaging a little more difficult? Were you able you find an off the shelf enclosure that works with the compact flash? If so I'd be interested in seeing that, just for future use.

I've done some development using flash based smart cards and packaging was a big issue, it seemed like everytime we found a solution they would discontinue it .

For now the CF card will be enclosed in the box (no way to remove it). Since we're not using the FAT file system to store the data the card won't be usable in other CF card readers (such as digital cameras, USB readers, etc).

The fact that CF cards are on their way "out" is not a big deal at this point. We just want to get a working prototype done to complete the proof of concept. We also have several sources who can supply us with low memory (8MB) cards for el'cheapo deniro.

If you need someone to help with any part of this let me know. I've got lots of experience doing serial communications in windows and embedded applications. I've also worked with lots of different types of memory. In addition I've developed hardware for many an embedded system.

Most importantly I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to pay for something that I can get in trade

Let me know,
Dustin
