Default Is it time to start a Baja forum here at the I-Club?

There's a Legacy and Forester forum here. It's probably time to start a Baja forum, now that it's on sale.

More like a sub-forum for the Legacy Forums? Since Baja is based on the Legacy branch.

By that thinking there should be an Outback forum too I guess. Now that it's considered a separate model

I think the Legacy, Outback and Baja are similar enough to be under the Legacy umbrella myself.

Default I think...

the Baja is sufficently different enough from the Legacy and Outback to warrant its own forum. It really appeals to a much different audience, I think.

Well, one should keep in mind that this is an impreza board, not a subaru board. Therefore, it is reasonable to just have one forum that is all non-impreza subarus.

Yeah, we need a Baja forum! Or at the very least a sub-forum!

I would have to agree that the Baja should be under the Legacy forum. As stated, this is an imperza board that has allowed all subaru's to meet/mingle here. There was at one time 3 "other" subaru forums, the Legacy, Forester and the SVX. The SVX is no longer, probably because a) not enough activity and b) they now have a SVX forum. The Forester forum is not quite as active as the Legacy forum, and I would hasten to think the Baja would be the same. For most (yes, not all) of people's inquiries regarding their vehicles, it is generally mechanical in nature. An seeing as the Baja, Outback and Legacy all share much the same components, theres no need for another forum really.

I think though if it were to happen I would go with subforums before individual forums, kind of like having "Legacy" then "L/GT" and "Outback/Baja" beneath it.

You really think that's an apt analogy? I don't. I think the Baja can stand on it's own merits, and deserves its own forum.

My $0.02 I know its been shot down many times before, but since the baja is based on the legacy... if they do a baja forum, there should be a wagon forum too

I don't think there are enough Baja owners out there yet to support the addition of another forum. I personally haven't seen anyone on here with one and I frequent the Legacy boards often. I'd say they should just be lumped in the Legacy forum, they have like components, and those guys know a lot about their Legacys.

Using that logic, the Forester folks ought to be grouped with the Impreza forums, since the Forester is built using the Impreza platform and shares many components.

Default Geez...

I didn't think this would be so controversial! What's the big deal about giving the Baja its own forum?

ok at the risk of sounding snobbish,

Its I-Club.. as in IMPREZA...

at least the forrester is on the same platform and so theres a common parts/technical discussion, the baja/brat/legacy/xyz car people dont have anything in common with impreza except a little badge..

Yeah! While they are at it, why not make an entire catagory for it like "Ugly Cars" and underneath could be a baja forum, aztec forum, neon SRT...

Not snobbish just uninformed, Lots and lots of the parts that are on a Legacy are the same as an Impreza. They share the same motors for one. Not just a badge. I've had a Legacy and an Impreza, it's amazing how many things are interchangeable.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to start a Baja forum, like they did an SVX one. We know what happened to that.
