Default Hiding in plain sight

They are easy to see if you know what your looking for.

The oil cooler is a built in unit that sits directly above the oil filter. It is a very small ribbed cylinder. It is a water to oil cooler so it is not as obvious as the large air to oil coolers you see on race cars.

The oill cooler for the Automatic transmissions should be in the bottom of the radiator ( I have a 5MT). Almost all automatics simply put an extra tube in the bottom tank of the radiator to pass heat from the transmission oil to the coolent. Look for 2 lines that run from the automatic transmission to the bottom tank of the radiator.

Cool I was tracing the lines from the A4 the radiator and they disappeared...I am used to them going in vertically in to the heat transfer tank.

Do all WRXs have the oil cooler?

Thanks
