Are you sure you won't need them in DC? It sounds like you've got some heading your way.

I've got some snow tires mounted on 15" steelies. I don't really need them here in Oklahoma, but they sure come in handy. They don't plow the roads very good around here, and we get some pretty bad ice storms. Also, it keeps me from abusing my good wheels and tires. I just swap them out whenever we've got weather coming.

I'm curious about the oil pan protector. Is that an aluminum skidplate, or is it some kind of plastic piece?

Thanks, and good luck!-

Rich

I don't need the snows. We only get a few inches at a time here, then it melts. My all-seasons are good enough.

The oil pan protector (actually called an engine under guard by Subaru) is painted steel. It's intended for an Outback and a bit of a pain to install on a Legacy.

Andres: I'm in Washington DC but shipping by UPS would only be about $60 I think. Price is negotiable; you can e-mail me directly at mwevrick@hotmail.com

Mike

PS I'm on vacation until the 12th so may not be checking my account regularly and could not ship the tires until the 12th.

Why?; are the original rims on the LS 15"?

The tires I have are already mounted on 14" rims so there should not be a problem. (overall diameter should be the same)

They should still fit any Legacy except the Outback. Overall diameter is about 24 inches. Andres, still interested?

I think the reason they dont fit some vehicles is the larger 2 piston calipers, could be wrong though.

Arent these the FWD size? I though the stock size was 185 75 14

I have a '97 Legacy Brochure here at the house.

Brighton Model
Front brakes 10.1" disc
Rear brakes 9" drum
Tires 185/70R14

L Model
Front brakes 10.1" disc
Rear brakes 10.5" disc
Tires 185/70R14

LSi Model
Front brakes 10.7" disc
Rear brakes 10.5" disc
Tires 195/60R15

2.5GT Model
Front brakes 10.7" disc
Rear brakes 10.5" disc
Tires 205/55R16

I also have an Outback brochure-

Outback/Outback Limited
Front brakes 10.7" disc
Rear brakes 10.5" disc
Tires 205/70R15

None of that proves whether or not the 14s will fit on all the models, but the size of the front brakes is different for some of them. Although the 14s do fit over the 10.5" rear disc brakes. I suppose that extra .2" on the fronts could make a difference for the 14s. I just don't know for sure.
