Talking Premier stages Rally Photos, UK

We went, we saw, we almost conquered, we met the local wildlife and then we dropped a bollock. LOL

Well, what a hideous days weather, the worst storms in the UK for 12 years! The car ran perfectly again. Going into stage 7 of 8 to run Simon and Ali were fighting for second overall, just behind the WRC Focus of Alister Ginley who was using the event as practice for the NetworkQ Rally GB.

Near the end of stage 7 they hit a deer, smashing the windscreen and putting a bloody big dent in the side panel behind the drivers door, they were flat in 5th at the time.

This really shook Simon up but they carried on and set 2nd fastest time for the stage! Stage 8 Simon drove under his normal pace as a result of the collison, it spooked him a bit. They still came out of the final stage lying 3rd overall.

Unfortunately, the guys made a mistake on the timing, booking in 3 minutes too early on one of the road sections after a stage was cancelled, amid all the confusion as they were re-routed they missed a time change, so we recieved a 3 minute penalty which screwed the result big time. The first time that has happened in 16 years! As you can imagine we all feel a little bit down about the result being lost on a technicality, but at least we were right on the pace all day again, we ran the same tyres as bulldog too. Thats rallying i guess (bollox)

Next event is this coming weekend, on the Cambrian rally in North Wales. A new screen has to be installed and a bit of panel bashing. It could have been much worse!

Hope you enjoy the pictures, they ran a Historic rally upfront of the main field, fun watching Lotus Cortina's, TR4's, Triumph Dolomite Sprints out in the woods again!

Along those lines, did anyone else happen to notice that it is the Cortinas 40th birthday?
