Post My first mod

Woohoo I got bored today so I did the
DIY painted stars badge.
My RS doesnt even have 150 miles on it yet,
but after seeing all these things to do I decided I had to do *something*.

Hmmm. Is the resonator on 00/01 models in the fender or is it that chunky box thingy below the stock snorkel in the engine compartment? I'm considering getting a GanzFlow intake and from the pics I have seen you remove a hell of alot of black plastic crap....

Mine is a MY01 and I really didn't notice much difference when I pulled the big resonator off.... we have like 4 different ones all the way up the tube. When I put my "GimpFlow" on, I really noticed a big sound difference as well as some added power up top... now my exhaust is too loud to even consider hearing the intake.... but my exhaust does wash out nicely when you really get on it... too much air trying to get out so it doesn't make a lot of noise.

~grumbling to self~ ....slush box? what are they thinking?.....

Xio, If you are going to mod please do it right. I hate seeing PVC and aluminum tape under the hood. Respect your Subbie! If you want a really sweet intake you need to get the 'A.R' type intake. It is designed by our own Andres Rodriguez and it is very effective. I have one on my car, it was my first mod. I posted a 1/4 time of 15.3 with it and a 16.5 without it. I highly recommend it. If you are interested I sell them. It is a full ram air unit with cone filter that runs into the fender and uses the little bumper vents for intake. It replaces the whole stock assembly. If you would like pics of it PM me. By the way, I sell many other products for the RS also like, strut bars, pedals, exhaust, clear light kits(OEM), shifters, etc.

Eww, no duct tape and PVC for me, please.
You don't like the polished aluminum GanzFlow intake from Larry at imprezars.com? To me, it looks like a fairly elegant yet simple design.
I'm also considering the Stromung dual tip to go with the intake but both of these mods will be a few months down the road. I just started a fat new job and it will be a couple weeks before the bucks start rolling in.
If you have pics of your AR intake then by all means flip 'em to me so I can take a look. Thanks.

Andres,
Are you getting any royalties from Chris for your intake? I say 30% would suffice.

Hey chris,
I have "The original" type A.R. prototype intake. You know, the development stage PVC w/ foil combo. I'd be on my car but the black plastic under my fender got messed up and I don't want my filter left out in the open.
(It also might be a collector's item some day, so maybe it won't go on at all.) I might just grab a K&N flat panel filter some aluminum sheets and go from there.

Xio -- Hey, I just got my MY01 BRP Coupe in Mid-December, and I'm just doing my first mod this weekend (Ganz-flo intake, air filter). I'm also looking at the exhaust for my next mod. Think I've got it narrowed down to the Stromung dual tip or the STi (Stainless steel for either). I want the best performance with the least noise (no sense announcing my presence).

Have fun and try not to spend all of those fat paychecks on booze and women -- save some for your car.

Yup, that's what I want, good performance with least noise. Any other suggestions for exhaust other than the Stromung dual?
