Your MAF wire?
(mass air flow)

I dont know much about this situation, so take this with a grain of salt. But heres a bump for you anyways.

That thing with the wires coming out of it on your air intake path after the fiter is your MAF unit. The wire thats it coming out of that would be the MAF wire. (Ill bet its has the word Denso on it, most of them that ive seen are from his company) You could follow that wherever you want. Maybe your talking about the location on the ECU. I really dont know that one.
Hope that helps,
Ajay

No prob. You might wanna try Aftermarket forced induction, you might hit larger number of people with the knowledge your looking for.

Talking A/F

Just did it in my 99 rs. There is a diagram online I used. Go onYAhoo type in "Impreza ecu wire Diagram" and you can find it. I think its the 2nd or 3rd site from the search. You'll have to do a little bit of lookin' but its thereIts the # 18 wire on the last plug( orange plug) off the ecu. Then you just need the 12v to for power... that is the #7 wire on the green(2nd plug). Hope that helps you.... will try to find and post the link

Thanks, but i ended up finding what i needed yesterday. Aparently Apex'i updated their website since the last time i looked. And i was able to find a diagram of a 98 ecu pointing out where the airflow wire was.
