Why don't you go ahead and post the link again?

BTW- I will not be attending the meeting. I'm barely able to squeeze in autoX weekends now that Summer time activities have begun.

Whats the reason for not posting team stuff on i-club? "because every i-clubber doesn't need to know what the team is doing"? If they want to know what your doing won't they just be able to go to the other site and snoop away? It would just be so much easier if team members could come here and get all the info on everything subaru related. It just seems like your splitting the tight knit group that we are all so proud of. If that IS what your doing (knowingly or not), I want no part in it.

Not sorry for ranting.

i'm with Skel. This whole idea of a race team is stupid. Honestly, all i see is a guy that stakes claim of a race team that doesn't exist. Half of the people on the members list haven't even raced before. If you don't want the I'clubbers to know anything then quit using this forum to post your announcements. The only person i have seen with any enthusiasm about 'TSM' is Forrest. This should be called TFM. Team Forrest Motorsports.By the way OrionF your E-mail to Skel was pretty shltty. This forum is here for us to voice our opinions about what we like and dislike. I don't know if I am on the TSM list or not but please take me off if I am, Idon't want my name or business affiliated with your organization. You and Forrest are doing a good job of dividing what was once a good and close knit club. Congratulations. Bottom line, you have your own club, team, members, and ideas so why don't you get your own forum. Look for the i-clubbers to be kicking TSM ass at the races.

( this letter is not just my opinions but others as well. I am just the one with balls enough to put it in writing)

How's this for an Idea. We have a little Subaru challenge at the July 14-15 Divisional in Houston. The best TSM has can run against the best non-TSM'ers. I will represent the non-TSM'ers in SM, Who is gonna represent the other classes?

Hey Chris, I think we have another driver in SM that will help you represent the i-club pride details to follow.

GL - I was in Denver/Boulder for my brothers graduation from Grad school. I plan on going to both Houston Divisionals though. I sent out my entry for the first Houston event yesterday! I can't wait. Rodger did a great job with the course last year, I can't remember but I think the GS car was the fastest Subie that weekend. Are you going to run in Houston? What class?

I'm sorry but I didn't realize there was such a huge distinction between the "club" and the "team".
Correct me if I am wrong but the "club" is an internet bulletin board that discusses Subarus and racing among other things, and the "team" is some people who are trying to focus on racing and maybe make some money while doing so. These 2 things don't seem so opposed to each other. What's all the fuss about?

I apologize for my direct attack at TSM earlier. Long day. Anyway, I simply don't understand the motive for the team. What will 'TSM' give us that we can't get otherwise? All I have heard of TSM is that Forrest is the 'prez'. What are the real motives for TSM? Lets run and have fun without the 'team'. Yeah but what do I know, I am just a two- faced bastard right Forrest?
That is the term you used for me isn't it?

I want Forrest and others that support TSM to understand that this is not a personnal attack. I like Forrest and OrionF both. I have had these feeling about the whole TSM thing for quite some time. As a matter of fact I was asked to be removed from the 'list' about a months ago before this started.
My exact words to Forrest "I don't have the time or enthusiasm to be a part of a team. I autox to have fun not to go out there with the attitude that I must 'do well for the team'. I don't need that pressure nor do I want to seclude myself from others that are 'non-members'. Please remove my name and business name from the 'list'. Thanks, Chris"
Maybe I did open up a can of worms here by putting my thoughts online but I surely didn't start it. Remember that guys, I am not the only one.

Wow.......

I think this requires a re-start...

Xio is right...the *club* and the *team* are two different things...
For those who race for fun then that's great...there's also some who want to take it a step further and concentrate more into racing and are interested in sponsors and such...

Two different things...and there's no reason why they can't co-exist. We're all i-club and TSOG members...and some of us choose to also be TSM members...where's the harm in that?

Wow, this is quite a swordfight you guys have created here...Forrest, it is my understanding that you are in contact with a Subaru dealership in regards to your team?
In reference to dealerships backing performance installations and warranty based issues, the dealership is not qualified to make the final decision on "go" or "nogo" for warranty replacement...SOA has a representative for the region your dealership falls under who is in charge of this particular issue...just be careful guys.

I kind of agree with isanni_racing, this is starting to sound alot like high school BS.

I fail to see how a racing team is "divisive" or "breaks up a close knit group". I don't see any attack on Pooh or TSOG, isn't that an internet website in direct rivalry with the "club"? Why not attack subiegal.com, new-impreza.com, etc.? I'm just trying to point out the absurdity of all this.

Perhaps the focus and goals of the "team" have not been communicated well enough to the Texas Subie population at large.
AFAIK TSM doesn't require you to "do well for the team" nor does it "seclude you from non-TSM members". If it did, I wouldn't be a part of it. At this time, it doesnt even require you to race at all as a condition of membership, as Chris pointed out. The "team" is still in the baby stages, it's not gonna be like Penske Racing or McLaren/Mercedes overnight.

It seems to me this is more of a personality conflict rather than a true issue worth arguing over. Where's the Subaru love, y'all?

I sit back and watch how things progress, I cannot believe the way you guys just follow the others when you have no idea what you are squealing about. I have made this clear of what TSM means to subaru racers. All this bickering means nothing to me. And what are you trying to prove with this "challenge" chris F? I don't know you anymore than you know me, as a subaru dealer I thought you were more professional than that?

I am NOT the enemy here. I do take part in alot of I-club events when I can. We all have fun together. So why the attacks against me and something I am proud to build? I have shop time for guys that want help setting up their cars, teaching the rookie drivers how to attack the course. We even will have a rally car soon for TSM member use. Maybe two, Orion has his eyes on a justy as well.

Chris B, I'm sorry you feel the way that you do about the team. All that we are trying to do is provide a race oriented organization that will benefit all Subaru drivers, from the beginner to the advanced, from autocrossing to rallying. It's quite obvious that you are the one trying to separate i-club from TSM. You can pretend all you want to that i-club is separate from TSM, but all TSM members, most i-club members, West Houston Subaru and SCCA know that is not the case and that is what counts. It's also quite obvious that you are always trying to start something in a negative way, the problem is it affects alot of people, not just the ones you are trying to hurt. You should think about that before you put it on the board.
As per your request, I have already taken you off the team registration list, but the door is always open to be a part of the team.

Forrest

I have been trying to keep quiet on this, but I am on the TSM side of things. I don't know what all I would like to get out of the team, but sponsorship is pretty high on the list. I don't find it strange that one of the highest sponsored Subaru AutoXers in Texas doesn't support the TSM. I also hope to use the team to get the word out to new people who want to try autoxing but need a helpful point of entry into the sport. I absolutely don't see it as a way to seperate i-clubers from autoxers. I also don't agree that TSM stuff be taken off this board. I personally find it hard to check this board on a daily basis, and I know that I will not regular 2 forums.

As for the challenge, Chris, if you are willing to go by Pax numbers, I will take it. Winner get a free beer.

Cool

ExchangeGuy - The bickering does seem to mean something to you - you keep posting on this thread! The challenge came about because I thought we could use a freindly competition among us Subie folks. I offered to represent the non-TSM'ers because I am not part of TSM. I don't see anything unprofessional about this (I have never said anything bad about you or TSM)

GL- As for a pax challenge, I think it's a great Idea. I could also dust off the GS car or bum a ride in an STS car if you prefer a heads up challenge, I would be happy to buy you a beer anytime!

I also agree that getting new Subie people into A/Xing is a good idea. I have dragged more than a few out so far. The RS/WRX is a blast to drive, and I think using a team to get people excited enough to come out is a worthy cause. I just think it would be fun to have an intramural subie challenge at the Divisional.
