Didn't Joe have some software and a cable that would allow him to "snoop" the cars ODB-II port?

Do you think there would be a market for such a stand alone device that could plug in to your car and give your feedback all the time?

yeah...just a scan tool to read and erase codes...only save u some bucks to go reset at the dealer BUT....if there is a problem the code will always pop up anyways....

eg: no catalytic converter....etc

live diagnostics is not the intention of this device.. i simply need it to pull and clear codes as i seem to throw a CE light every week =)

Joe did have one with a pda interface. too bad hes not here anymore =|

Joe's ODB2 scan tool required the use of a computer with a serial port - that's how it got the "live data". Unfortunately, there aren't many notebooks out there that still have a serial port.

Thats pretty good useful if people who really mod there cars. I kinda have the same problem with O2 sensior after from the high flow cat install. Is there a direct port to the car from this thing ?

Can't you use a serial to usb converter?
