Default Very Sad RX7 Story With Death....Be Careful Out There...

Ok, I searched all of i-Club under "RX7" before posting, so don't shoot the messenger. Besides, this story is too sad to WTLW.

Sorry if you've seen it before.

projekt I dont know who you are reffering to, but it has anything to do with the post on the RX-7 Forums then you are a sick minded person and should be shot.

If it is reffering to something else then disregard the above statement.

Sorry, but I have to agree to an extent...in a less harsh manner.

If this guy were out show-boating and ended up killing someone else (say the neighbor's 5 year old daughter), you guys would be singing a different tune. Sure, when anyone dies, it's upsetting; but given the circumstances, I'm don't feel bad for him (the dad). He was out flirting with death, taking a car to the limits on a public street and paid the ultimate consequence. It's his fault entirely. I do feel for his son and family though...whether it was his fault or not, they now have to live with the loss of a loved one.

I'd say he was an idiot. If I were out racing around in my car, and I died...I would call me an idiot too.

That's pretty harsh considering the circumstances.

You've never driven fast in your car? According to his story, the fastest they were going was 80mph.

You've never driven 80?

If I drive 80 on a public road, I know what I am getting into...especially a road like the thread starter described. To quote him:
Quote:
He was going around 70-80mph when there was a hump about 3 1/2' high coming up on a slow left hand turn with a slow right turn right after.
A bumpy slow left followed by a right at 70-80mph...come on! What was this guy thinking!

I know that if I am breaking the speed limit, which is the posted 'safe speed', I am purposely driving unsafely an recklessly. If I do that, I know what I am getting into, and if I were to crash/get hurt/die, it would be the fault of my own.

You guys are always posting crap about people wrecking their cars and how it's their fault for driving like crap...well, that's what happened. This guy wrecked while driving like crap. I think he is an even bigger idiot for doing it with his son on board. Irresponsible and idiotic sum up his actions. As I said before, unfortunately, he paid the ultimate consequence, but I don't feel bad for him...just his family.

At least they're not trying to blame it on the tires.

And yeah, 70-80mph on a twisty river road at night (when the deer are out and you can't see as well) WITH YOUR KID IN THE CAR isn't very smart.

Darwin nominee anyone?

And I do feel sorry for the family. Hopefully they won't try suing the DOL for giving the dad a license when he wasn't very responsible, or the DOT for making an unsafe road with insufficient run-off or barriers, or Mazda for making a car that goes faster than conditions permit...
