Post Need some help from the Houston area people...

Okay everyone, I need a little assistance, if it's not too much trouble.

I'm not satisfied with the exhaust tip on my new muffler. It's actually smaller than the stock muffler tip! I need something that looks appropriate for the sound.

I'm looking for something that has about a 3-1/2" outlet diameter, a 2-1/4" inlet diameter, and is about 6 to 8 inches long. I'd also be interested in an oval shaped tip, but haven't seen one that will work.

I've tried searching on the net, and I've run across a few things, but would like to find something local. By local I mean anything in the immediate area, Houston, Conroe, Galveston, etc.

If you happen to run across a shop or you know of a shop that carries different tips, please e-mail me or pm me. I'd appreciate it very much! Thanks!!

Adam

Hey Forrest, I haven't tried any of the local auto parts shops yet. I'll have to take a look.

I have looked at JC Whitney, and they have a couple that might work. They may be too long, but they are cheap at $15 a pop.

I talked to Chris this morning and he can get quite a few different styles. I'm going to try and go by there Friday to take a look. He mentioned a slick looking oval tip. Hmmm... maybe?

Me and Chris were at Hocus Pocus on Saturday, when we saw the exhaust tips we thought of you They had one that looked just like the tip on Andres Borla exhaust. You should check it out.

Thanks Skel, I'll try to go by there soon. I haven't had a chance to go by any other shops yet either. Work has been busier than Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny during duck season.

Still planning on going by Chris' shop Friday to see what he can get.

You know, Borla DOES make a 4" intercooler tip... I figure since my dual 2.5" was actually a dual 3" the 4" has to be a 4.5"... granted, you will pay a cool $50 or so for it... I think it is worth it though... IC tips are the coolest...

Wouldn't it be easier to go by hocus pocus on Belaire than it would to go to Chris' shop in Texas City? you could call him and save the trip.

Casey, if you find the 4" round straight cut Borla tip for $50, let me know. It lists for $83.99 on their home page!

Skel, I did call Chris. But, I'd like to see what my $45 is going to buy first. He didn't sound like faxing a picture was very viable. I'll probably be able to go by Hocus Pocus too. I'll be off Friday, so I'll be able to stop at a few places.

Hocus Pocus has lots of exhaust stuff. Plus they made me a great custom intake! Carboy also has tons of exhausts, no one's mentioned them.

Marc, Hocus Pocus was on my list of stops for tomorrow. I'm going to try Carboy too, but haven't found their phone # yet. I think they are in the Bellaire area.

Forrest, what's the # for A-1? I'd like to find out what they carry, hours, etc. Could you check on getting a brochure or some pictures? Really any information would be great. Sizes, lengths, s.s., aluminized, price, etc.

I talked to Chris the other day. Steve was there, the lucky birthday boy - must be nice to be off for a whole week, and he faxed three pages for me to check out. I asked Chris to try and get the 4" oval, non-resonated. Don't know if it'll work with the 2.5" inlet. My muffler is supposed to have a 2.25" outlet. I'm going to try and go by there tomorrow and check it out.

Hey Steve! I actually liked the one you guys had marked. Chris said he was going to order it, so I'm just waiting to hear from him. I might go down there tomorrow if it came in. I'm curious to see it.
