Default Dark Meat or White Meat?

With Thanksgiving coming up, which do you prefer? The sweet dark meat or the succulent white meat?

I beleive that Thanksgiving is a Vegetariens favorite holiday, in at least the families that I know that have them.... There's usually 5-7 vegetables to every meat. Carrots, peas, corn, cauliflower, broccoli just to name a few...

i vote for the skin. hands down the best part of the bird. nice & crispy and full of salty seasonings.

of course i don't have that option cuz KC forgot it.

I usually take a big ol' hunk of breast and grab a drum.
Everyone throws the skin onto my plate.

White meat...but only if it's not all dried up and stringy. If you need gravy to get it down it isn't fit to eat.

having dated my share of hippies, i've had Tofurkey a number of times at Thanksgiving . . . and it's awesome. i was really really surprised.

the deep-fried turkey? HORRIBLE.

and give me a big ol' drumstick. that's the good stuff.

i don't even really get excited over the turkey tho, i'm more about:

mashed potatos
sweet potato caserole
cole slaw
creamed white onions
peas
corn
. . . and that little tray of olives and pickles

White meat please! Dark meat be greasy, fatty, and strong-tasting.

This coming from a former vegan

i don't think the vegetables are vegetarian-safe at my house on thanksgiving, my grandma manages to make everything with meat. hell, she throws big slabs of bacon in the green beans!

yay for dark meat! (also pecan pie, super lumpy mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, homemade creamed corn, and fried okra!)

and for you people that have no idea what to do w/ the damn turkey after eating it for 4 days:

2 cups of turkey, cut into bite size pieces
1 cup of diced apple
couple tablespoons of mayo
1/2 cup of walnuts
1 teaspoon of dijon mustard
a few teaspoons of curry powder, to taste

it may sound weird, but it's a kickass turkey salad!

Add black eyed peas and you've described the perfect meal.
