Angry Am I The Only One Who Gets Tossed Around In The Wind??

The 2.5 RS isn't the greatest car when it comes to fighting the wind...

I get tossed all over the place!

me too. crossing the san mateo is freaky, especially passing them big rigs. and my light self doesnt help weigh down the car.

I felt I got tossed around more in my old OBS. But less in the WRX. I can feel the weight difference.

Driving home last night my car was acting pretty sketchy on the Bayshore. But as OwlBoogie said, my OBS was much worse with crosswinds.

You know I have never had a problem with my RS (Guess that Ver5 wing keeps it fairly stable), but in my wagon I get tossed all over the place. These past two days especially......at first I thought there was something wrong with the car, but it's just the wind.

Cheers

EddyL.

I definitely feel a bit more unstable in crosswinds in the WRX than in my old Accord. It's that high profile and clearance I guess.

Gotta keep a tight grip on that wheel!

Yeah it is pretty normal. I have had situations where I can even see the hood on my WRX flex. But with the RS, I do not get thrown around as bad. Can't wait to see what a Genuine 22B wing can do.

big time, its scary, especially to the point where i have to really grip the steering wheel.

yesterday, i was heading over to menlo atherton around 3, and had to get in a rush so i was kinda......sorta......going over the speed limit, and at certain parts on 280, when the wind hit im sure the hood scoop doesnt help either, sometimes it feels like the hoodscoop is responsible for some of it.

but then early this year passing through san mateo bridge westbound... my hoodscoop look like it was about to rip off and my wipers went up

WOW, I was driving 90ish on 4 to and from Stockton yesterday - I could feel the wind, but it was way better in my WRX than any other car I've ever owned. This car is just so stable.

Well, my hood latch is broken... or was, and the body shop welded the spring to the part that holds it... this is in reference to the locking mechanism...

well, poped my hood today, and it looks like the spring is again shifting Totally sucks, and this stupid shop hasn't ordered my hood latch yet! It's been 3 weeks!!! If my hood was to pop open on the HWY, i'd be dead for sure

should i convince my dad to let me purchase the latch ourselves?? I keep trying, but he's holding fast to the fact that the body shop will get it cheaper...

My car is doing pretty well for some reason... It used to be bad, but I think how stiff it is now combined with the grip and alignment and low CD (my cd is lower than either an RS or WRX, due to my bumper and lack of a hoodscoop... like .32 compaired to .36 for the RS and .35 for the WRX)

If you think your RS is bad, you should try ridding a street bike in a cross wind sometime.
