Heh, yup. And love it .... but a new Supra.... ::drool::

(actually i wouldn't want to jump on the "Supra bandwagon" so I'd prolly just be in the closet about wanting one)

I think they said in the new issue of R&T that it might be a V6?

One of the magazines here in Japan had a rumor that the next Supra would be powered by the V8 from the BMW M5. I don't think that will ever happen, but it's always entertaining to see what these magazines come up with.

I would welcome a new Supra, but I will never put any stock into anything that Road & Track says (or MotorTrend, or Automobile).

Read the correction at the top of the same page.

The November 2002 issue of Road & Track reported that Nissan would be selling race ready 350Z's for $75,000 each. Nissan North America (NNA) has advised that this information is incorrect. At the current time, Nissan Motor Limited (NML) in Japan has built a single prototype race car. While studies are underway to determine the feasibility of such a program, it is still just a study. At this time Nissan North America (NNA) has no plans to sell complete racecars.

It should also be noted that the price of a complete race ready GT car for this class of racing is likely to be much closer to $250,000.

somewhat off the mark with a Nissan 350Z GT race car for 75K .

If a new Supra does come, I hope it has a I6 with a turbo, but somehow I suspect a V6....seems to be a trend.

all good unless they give it their new trademark look
see the new corolla, camry, and echo if you are unsure

hope they give it a real engine unlike the celica

It would be great if they offered three types of Supras. One with a DOHC 4.7L V8 to cater to the V8 crowd. Then a I6/V6 N/A version for the low insurance/cool car crowd. Then, a I6/V6 turbo version for the turbocharger lovers.
It would be plausible, and would be sure to get quite a few sales if the price is right.

the 3/4/5000 gt is sex on wheels, but for close to ferrari prices it doesn't seem like it'll sell so well having a toyota name plate.

as for the supra pics, I'd hit 2/3 of em. I would believe a NA model for the first year or two, but enough people would want a turbo they would have to do it.

I'm happy to see a return of proper jap sports cars...so I'll just count my blessings with that.

I think that 3rd pic would be the new Lexus SC330 (I think that's the name) that they are bringing back... I haven't seen that first pic, and it I think it closely resembles a celica more than a Supra... but that second pic has been floating around forever.

I'd ask supraforums.com since they seem to know a lot about it...

I've heard it'll have a sportier version of the 4.3 v-8 in the lexus and more expensive. I don't think they will offer a turbocharger. I think it will be shown at the 2004 auto show, I forget which one or where i read this. They are also developing a concept with nissan for something which I forgot, I think it might be an electric car or something crazy like that.

Looks as if the Celica mated with a S2000.
