Talking broke 100 mph!!!!!

well, we went back to the track last saturday to make a couple more passes. weather was real nice and was a little cooler than the week before, mid 50's. last time it was high 50's with 100% humidity.

10/26 - I ran a 13.458 @ 99.34 mph

11/2 my fastest run:

R/T .968
60' 1.825
330' 5.449
1/8 8.492
MPH 81.23
1000' 11.117
1/4 13.366
MPH 100.45

over all I was pleased, I just wish the mph was in the 101's, since I went a 13.3.

I had a real nice run going and almost blew the engine, I think it had a 101 mph in it, judging by the 1/8th. I was to busy watching the LS1 I was racing and missed 4th twice only to find 2nd!!!!! luckily I caught it before it went over about 8200 RPM. nothing was damaged because I ran the 13.366 after the incident, and has been running fine ever since.

run of d00m:
R/T .568
60' 1.851
330' 5.456
1/8 8.486
MPH 81.82
1000' 11.094
1/4 13.478
MPH 87.89 :monkey:

my friend in the wagon ended up running a 13.305 @ 101.81 mph, I hate thathe out trapped me.

what are your mods? Thats some pretty good MPH... does is seem a little high for your ET? I think I have seen others running low 13 @ only 97ish. What was your traction like?

Not at all, other way around actually. He is running pretty damn good ETs for that mph IMO. Some have gone slightly quicker, but not much. Congratulations What track are you running at? I run at Bristol, but it is already closed down for the year

Trap speeds seem to be more track dependent in my limited drag experience. If you are talking 5+mph differences in trap speed it'll tell you something but 1-2mph difference at different strips might just be the track. At least that's what I've seen in this area, where one strip seems to be consistently higher than another one.

thanks for props guys.

my mods:
TurboXS up-pipe
TurboXS cat. stealth-back
MBC
Samco IC hoses

wagon's mods:
godspeed up-pipe
PDE DP
Apex-i WS cat.back
MBC
TurboXS stage 2 uni-chip

geronimo66 - I'm not sure if it's the track or the tq that I have know, because the car comes off the line pretty wierd. I can feel all the wheels slipping individually, very strange feeling and it pulls side to side pretty bad. overall the track conditions were OK, seemed to be pulling mid 1.8's all day.

VetteVert - the closest 1/4 mile track to me is Bowling Green, KY. I think it's like at 1000 ft or something like that, pretty decent place. nothing like Bristol though, it's a pro NHRA track, but not as nice.

dwx - I've never raced on any other 1/4 mile track, so I can't judge if this is a "quick" track or anything. the have big events sometimes, so they must be fairly accurate.

8,200rpms that must have been a little frightening seeing the tach +1,000rpms into redline! Nice times though

The wagon in this thread is mine. Beech Bend Raceway Park's elevation is 480'.
I ran 8.464@81.82mph in the 1/8th and 13.302@101.81mph in the 1/4. My best 60' was 1.85. GroceryTurbo can pull better, more consistent 60' times than I can.

We both had our spare tires pulled. He was running open (out of the TXS mid-pipe), since he hasn't replaced the restrictive factory axle-back yet.

All in all, we were pleased. I only made three passes.

stickman - I slip the clutch out, would rather burn the clutch than break the tranny. I rev the engine between 2500-3500 rpm, as soon as I see the first yellow light I rev it up to about 5000-5200 rpm and slip the clutch.
- I take it all the way to 7000 on evey shift, but I have never tried it any other way.
- to tell the honest truth I have no idea, they should be at 32 psi all around. I have never messed with the tire pressure, but I would go any lower than about 30 psi.
- I pulled my jack, spare, and tools. also, I pulled the axle back because I poor and can't afford a axle back right now and aren't hard core enough to have a pipe bent. the last couple of times I've been the light came on, so not have much gas helps alot. I weighed my car in it's current state with a full tank, no spare or tools, and it came in at 3070 lbs. without me. you can take about 70lbs. out from just a low tank of gas, best and cheapest weight reduction.

next mod will probably be more suspension stuff, I like turning better than going straight. next power adder will be a Blitz axle back and maybe a UTEC, building up for a turbo. my wife will have graduated by then and I'll have some more money to buy mods.

thanks for the props.

mattrudella - yea, it sucked pretty bad. I got to thinking it probably wasn't that high considering the tach. is off the higher you rev.

BamBooI - thanks man, glad to see you had my back in the RSX thread also, I appreicate it.

Not unless they are chipped + laughing gas. Buy the time they get high lift cams and their ECUs set to them, we'll have turbos bigger than their steering wheels.

Hey GRoceryTurbo where in Mid TN are you? I am near Nashville... (Smyrna to be exact) I was just wondering how long it takes you to get to bristol to run the 1/4? Do they have a website with open test/tune night schedule on it? I have only run at Beech Bend and Steel in B'ham AL. Just wondering if you think Bristol is a faster track...???

BamBooI - Yall play nice and don't get beat by chipped rsx's NEVAR!!!!!!

wrxchris77 - I don't believe in pulling stuff just to make some passes down the strip. I wish I was hard core enough to pull the back seat, but I just can't do it in a 4dr. the only reason I pulled the muffler is because it's so restrictive.

Blknblu - Bristol is pretty far from middle TN, took about 5 hours when we went to VIR a couple of weeks ago. I would think they're really close, except Bristol might be a higher elevation. not really sure on that though, I wouldn't think it would be any faster or slower. is your car a silver sedan with a Blitz FMIC?

Paul has a WRB sedan with an up-pipe, KYB's, Rota Attacks and Ground Control coilovers.

???, mystery silver sedan guy, has a VF22, Blitz FMIC, Uni-chip and some other stuff. I don't really know him that well, only seen him a couple of times and never talked to him.

what kind of mods do you have Blknblu?
