Default I spoke too soon..... first gear is clicking....

Ok, well it came back to bite me in my ass..... If I listen very carfully at about 1500-2000RPM in first gear you can hear a click click click noise... I think she's about to blow!

Any follow-up? I'm been hoping for you that it is just a long weed wrapped around the driveshaft and clicking against a body part, or something (it happened to me).

Not to make you feel worse, but I could smell your clutch at the stop light before we got on the highway sunday morning. Guess you better get tranny and clutch fixed before it becomes a permanent trailer queen

Well, it may not be the gear now. If the clutch is engaged in neu. and RPMS are at 1500 I can here the same sound. my clutch has ALWAYS made strange sounds, so I'm not too worried about it anymore. If something breaks it breaks.... atleast the suspense will be over But it could be the main drive making the noise.. don't know don't care anymore.

Plus, it's just money....err.

Hummm.... throw-out bearing? Does the sound change when just just barely put a bit of pressure on the clutch?

Yeah, this is a 100% positive cause of *some* of the funky noises. The TO bearing is shot and has been shot for a LONG time. But oh well...

Default TO Bearing

I had a 1988 M3 and the throwout bearing went bad 3 times in 2 years. The problem with a bad throwout bearing is that you have to take apart the clutch to get to it. Kind of costly.
