Default CD changer location

My sister got her car from Richmond Subaru with a 6 disk changer install under the driver sit. However, I don't know if it's a bad install or a bad unit, it would skip over bumps and scratch the hell out of the cd. Where did you guys have your cd changer install and where in the car??

There may be one of the floor air-vents under the driver's seat. I'd just be concerned about it blowing dust onto the changer. I've had mine on the floor for over 3 years and no skipping, dust problems whatsoever though. You should be fine, unless you want to install an amp or mini-sub under the seat which takes up room.

Hmmm...must be a bad install or the unit don't have bump protection. I wonder if I should have it check out at an audio shop, but kinda short on cash.
