Hope is for a 2.5FA. No engine codes shown on these documents. Might still be the aged EJ?

Surprised this document is being allowed to circulate, especially from a Subaru dealership.

sorry for the confusion, it is not a dealership, rather a local forum and community.

Kinda doubt this originated from within FHI or SOA. I doubt they refer to themselves as "Fuji Heavy" and I'm certain the word "Hatchback" is never, ever, used inside Subaru, even within For-Internal-Use-Only docs.

I am pretty sure that "document" has been posted here before. Somewhere in the old 2016 WRX/STI thread that got locked maybe.

Better not be. Subaru did say that they were moving to all direct-injection engines by 2017 according to some reports online:

http://wot.motortrend.com/1408_subar...g_in_2016.html

The EJ257 and the lack of a hatchback are what kept me from getting the STI, and may end up driving me to the Focus RS in the future. But suppose Subaru follows through on their plan, and the leaked document is real, then I will have to force myself to wait a bit longer.

Looks to be a few months old. Hoping it comes true for a 2017-2018 hatch.

If they come out with a STI FA25 I will have to trade the 15 wrx in.

Subaru Marketing at its Best! Leak here, leak there, build the intrigue and excitement. Been there, done that.

but but, that's a crossover not a wagon.... Seriously though crossover does not equal wagon. By that logic the XV-Crosstrek is an impreza hatchback.

It also doesn't say if the hatch will be offered as a wrx and sti, or wrx only again. Didn't SOABlog say when the 15s came out that, for the GRs, hatches were half of wrx sales but only a third of stis? It might come back only as a wrx.
