Has anyone tried or uses a piaa super plasma bulb ( the one with 2 tone on it ). Will that be very blue if it is on low beam. Cos I don't want any stupid ticket on my color of the bulb.

I have the super plasma it is not blue it have a more purple hid looks to it but in high beam it is white. Didn't you go to the meet last week?? When these light are reflected off any type of reflector it looks cool. And as for the cops I haven't have any problems with them yet. I've been driving behind them, they drove in front of me etc.. nothing.. I think they think they are hid. But one time I did noticed that a cop that drove infront of me looked at my car and he took a turn right after the block. Not sure if he wanted a piece of my lights, but it was during heavy trafic so nothing happened.

I have PIAA super whites and they are fine... they are VERY white compared to other lights. The Super plasmas are very blue-purple and attract a little more attention IMO... I changed the H4's and H3's so they [law enforcement] wouldn't be able to tell they weren't stock and hastle me(unless at a Subbie meet of course ). I also changed the corners as the stock ones looked like they were on the verge of burning out!! Don't get something outrageously blue in the corners as I heard people have problems them.

I believe we are supposed to have someone at Lordco? so you can get a discount for the lights there... ask Orwin about the details.

it just looks like what Avenger says...purple/blue at low beam and white at high beam...
our club hasn't set up the account w/ Lordco yet since they required officially registration documents or sth...
so for any of you that needs help for discount at Lordco you can msg me...

Wasn't the guy with the turbo 2.0 that went to cates park meet, works at Lordco or some connection with them? I can't remember.

I don't know.....cos I got it from Lordco today for $99 +tax. Do you think this is a good price? I pick the Super plasma because it looks the best at the light sample. And it is so much whiter than the plasma blue series and brighter than the Super white series. Just don't know will there be any trouble during those stupid road blocks.
Infacts.....does anyone has any recommended PIAA bulbs which they looks white but problem free?

99 is a pretty good price...

my friend brought a set of Piaa HID one, cost him around 700-800 hkd, but he never got any troble with the lights, cuz they really do look like HID.

and i heard that PIAA is DOT approved... so i think it's legal to use PIAA...

I would say..don't waste your money buying Piaa's..they last no longer then the cheaper super whites...I am using the Eurolites and I think they do just fine..and they are white enough..I think they look great..and they cost me 20 bux...haaha..brand new...so yeah...

I got the two tone plasma XX..
yeah.. you look into it it's got a gold/purpleish tint.. but the light that comes out look like HIDs(the color.. not so much the brightness ) and anything refective off looks WICKED !!! and no.. no problems with cops, went through countless road blocks.. they're fine.

Is it true the foglights actually works better with the stock/halogen color IN FOG ?

It might just be my friend's car, but i parked my car(PIAA) and his talon(Eurolight) with headlights on.. his was just dim.. he had to drive around with highbeams on. And the light that hits the road is actually yellow/halogen like(dispite it looked white/bluish when you look into it).

yes...the guy w/ the EJ20 works at Lordco...

$99 + tax is not a really good deal but it's cheaper than else where...I got those for really low $100...would say close to 10% off that price i think...

PIAA doesn't last as long as other brands? i dunno how long other brands like Eurolites would last...but mine and PiGi's has been using PIAA superwhite for over 1.5 years (and PiGi has used for 2 years before the first one burnt out...the other one is still using; mine is so far so good)

the only car that i heard u better use cheap brand is Prelude...coz no matter what brand u use they burnt out fast...those cheap one would probably last 2 ~ 3 weeks...PIAA last less than half year...

moreover the Eurolite looks kinda green/yellow/dim when it reflects on other objects...although it looks "white" espeically on those lens like Integra's, older Camry's...

but $20 is a really good deal...compare to PIAA u can get 5 pairs...yet i still love my PIAA compare to any other brands...hehe...

i'm using a kind that is call Xenon White, the effect it comes out is just like those in Benz, but it doesnt looks as great as PIAA, but the performance is much better, it's way brigther at nite then my friend's PIAA. it pretty much match some real HID cars like 3.2TL... and a pair is just 50 bux.
i think they last pretty long, used for over half a year with light turn on ALL the time ( not daytime running lights, i use normal light all the time) and still running fine.

if u really want HID and willing to spend the money, i would get the PIAA true HID system... but i havnt seen any in van yet...

I think any bulbs look good on the impreza's headlight..
maybe it's the overall design the light just comes out better. Plus we use 1 bulb H4 unlike some two bulb cars.

side note, PIAA Super White is legal in north america, I don't know about Plasma

but the problem with H4 is that we can never use a full HID system, cuz we will just lose high beam...

Goten: are u using 55W/60W or u are using 85W/85W???
the 55/60 one will produce about 100/110 brightness and the 85/85 will produce 135/135 brightness...if u use the higher output one then that's why urs is brighter...
yet that's not good to ur build in electrical wires...u will need wiring harness upgrade...

super blasma is not DOT approved...

the reflector for 99+ Impreza are good...98 prior not as good...

one of our regular costomer is a cop in the VPD, so I asked him one day before I put my cool blues in my car.what he said is that it's NOT legal to have any colour in you headlights. though he said he has never given out any headlight tickets,he's got better things to do, he said, there are cop that will pull you over for having the slightest tint in you headlight. the way he put it, even if it's legal, you have to take a day off to go to court and fight it,and there is no garrentee(sp?) that you won't be ticketed again. he also told me somthing else that made sense. if you were a cop with a radar gun, and two identical cars were racing towards you, one stock, one with body kit, bright lights, stickers everywhere, which one would get your attention first? so why draw unwanted attention to youself.
