Default REV limiter?

Was going through an intersection a couple of days ago and I almost got hit by what looked like a 1 ton truck, but it had the same colors as a firetruck, and it had lights but no siren.....

Anyway I gunned the car (was still in first) and my revs must have gone over 6k because as I turned the car slowed a bit untill I was under the 6k limit again.

1. Is this a rev limiter? (if not have I hurt the car at all?)

2. What kind of damage will I do to my car?

Yes, there is a rev limiter, it should kick in about 6200 to 6300 rpm.

Yes, if you hit the rev limiter, you will feel a momentary loss of power (to let the revs drop), as you have described.

Don't worry, no damage done AT ALL. That is the limiter's purpose.

I know people who hit their limiters regularly just from hard driving.

My max rev, according to my Apexi RSM, is 6480 rpm... that's as high as it'll let me go on my 02RS

TMR: you can find it at Technik Motorwerks

RSM - Rimjob Simulation Module?

Where would I find one of those? Christmas is coming, and I want to get Kevin something to practice on.
