Default I HATE SuperCuts

Ok about a month ago I went to SuperCuts on Fillmore St couple of blocks up from Sac St, and this lady messed up my haircut. So when I got home I noticed one side was faded more up than the other. SO I go back and she fixes it and tells me she had a bad day and blah blah...

SO TODAY I go to the SAME SUPERCUTS and a different person gives me the haircut. I go home wash my hair because I hate the little hairs everywhere and I noticed that this guy messed up too. One side was shorter than the other. OH man was I pissed off. So I go back an tell them how upset and disappointed i was and guess who ends up fixing my hair. The lady that messed up the first time (when I went there a month ago). Than I go to work and i told this to one of my coworkers and he takes a good look at my haircut and he notices that the back is not cut streight. Its at a REALLY SMALL angle but you can tell if you REALLY LOOK CLOSE. I am never going back there again.

Those places are inconsistent........sometimes they have a talented skilled person..........but often people start there after getting out a barber college......

I've always hated getting my hair cut, they always mess up. One day I just busted out the scissors and started cutting away. Got it short enough and used a gillette razor to finish it off. Now I gots one of those BZZZZZZZZZZZZ things and I just shave my own head.

I've been cutting my own hair for 16 years, it's really not that hard once you get the hang of it.

I used to go to the same person all the time to cut my hair before I moved here... Supercuts now is just the closest place, and I never talk to anyone like I used to

i stopped going to SuperCuts since 7th grade or something like that!

go out and find a better barber! ask around. i'd sooner walk into an unfamiliar barber shop than to get my hair cut at supercuts.

Yup! After trying to look for a good barber... I finally decided I should just do it myself. I've watch them cut my hair and its really not all that hard... just use a lot of mirrors and time to get used to. my hair is short so its real easy with the "BZZZZZZZZ" thing which is called a clipper if i listened correctly when i was waiting in line in the barber shop. can't mess up since theres plastic guides on em so now i save what.. $12+ a month for a haircut and now i can cut it every other week to keep it short.

btw do you guys leave tip for them after you get a hair cut? i only leave a tip if the cut is good.

Just shave your head. You won't have to go out and spend $13 every time and if you buy a set of clippers, they will pay for themselves after 2 cuts.

If you really want, we can find a plug at UCKK and I will shave your head for you

I remember my last Supercuts haircut. I was in 5th grade. They cut my nice long hair to some ugly short cut and turned me into looking like a boy. Not something a 5th grade female wants. hehehe. I've been going to the same stylist now ever since I was in high school, and I love the cuts I get.

definitely learn how to cut your own hair. i save about 15 bucks a week since i cut my hair weekly. having asian hair is ugh. let the side grow too long...it'll look like a cha-cha-chea pet.

Yeah cutting your own hair rules. It's easy once you get the hang of it. The left hand is a little hard at first, but it gets easy after a while. I've been cutting my own hair for about 10 years now. Plus now having a shaved head is so easy.

I'm really interested in hearing how you do it. I know what you mean. The sides really have to stay pretty short or its rediculous. How do you get the back and cut the top? Got any pics of how your haircut looks?

My pops cuts my hair. I go to my parents' place and it's good quality time with dad. Reminds me of Boys in the Hood.

He used to cut all his buddies' hair when he was in the Coast Guard. He has all the stuff: ace comb, talcum powder, that vinyl apron thingie, etc. I 'invested' a $100 in buying him a new Oster trimmer and new blade for his circa 1980's Oster clipper (The clipper is a trooper. Solid . Professional grade.). The $100 i spent more than paid for itself already. It was a gift for his birthday a couple years ago... A gift for both him and me I guess.

never get your haircuts at SuperCuts.

If u want a good fade, go to an African American owned barber shop. they will fade you alright.

or Cacasian owned barber shops that do a lot of haircuts for Military personnel.

well the sides are pretty much simple. i've had a hard time doing the back in the beginning. but with practice, it was simple.

i usually cut my hair infront of a big mirror and with another handheld mirror in hand. hold the shaver(oyster from costco, cheap and dependable) on an angle. and just basically shave from the bottom up. occassionally looking at the handheld mirror thru the bigger mirror. if you're not sure if it is even...have someone take a look.

the top is simple also, using two fingers(index and middle) as a straight edge while grabbing strands of hair, use shaver to cut in a straight line. repeat on several places to acquire the desired lenght.

hope that helps.

Haven't been to the barber in years. I cut my own hair. Just slap on a #1 guard on the clippers and have at it. Takes all of 5 minutes every Tuesday night (don't ask why Tuesdays). Once in awhile I'll hit up an old school baber shop (complete with barber pole) and get a haircut and shave.

Cutting my own hair, the good is that it's free, the bad is that I require a good tip.
