Angry OT: Car salesman lies

My cousin down in Pasadena, CA recently got a Mazda Protege5 Wagon, thinking that it came with the 6 CD changer option. The salesman informed him so repeatedly and my cousin simply took his word for it. It doesn't help when there's hardly any visual difference between the regular single CD player and the changer.

So my cousin pays, takes the car home, only to find it isn't the changer at all. It sucks as it isn't mentioned anywhere in the receipt that there was or wasn't a 6 CD changer. THe piece of paper that's stuck on the back window is already removed well before he test drives the car.

My cous calls the dealership up, the salesman still insists there is a changer and not until he speaks with the manager is he confirmed that all along, nobody ever says there was a changer. Nor is there any proof written anywhere....

Well, it does look like he's never getting his 6-CD but I thought BAIC may provide a glimpse of hope. Any helpers?

Yes. He was under the impression that it existed. He was told so. And since there were no written proof that it was there ... he's screwed. That option is like a few hundred bucks...

If theres no written proof that it was there, and its not there, then he has every right to get his money back. Have him call up Mazda of America, or contact a lawyer.
