Default Alex Updates Domain Info... COMMIES!

Heh.

Sorry, was just amused to see that Alex seems to have changed all the domain contact info from his place in CA to an address in the Russian Federation.

Come on, we talk big, but no one here was REALLY going to go to his house and try to beat him up or anything!

Right?

Wuss.

I think he may have changed it because he had Bozz Performance listed as the company name. I doubt Bozz wants anything to do with this.

I'm sure he also did it to try to further push his diplomatic immunity for any legal responsibilities he might have for what he did.

What is it that has brought all this about. It was my understanding that there was just a verbal disagreement between he an a vendor or something. Why is this being made into such a big deal? Did he do something inherently wrong other than voice his opinion?

The term diplomatic immunity is popularly, and erroneously, understood to refer to special protections afforded all employees of foreign governments who are present in the United States as official representatives of their home governments.

Some of these persons are members of diplomatic missions, others are assigned to consular posts, and still others are employees of international organizations or members of national missions to such international organizations.

no were does it say starting a car club for your motherland gives you diplomatic immunity.

A friend of mine needed some help doing some work on his car. He called me up and asked if I could help him out he was swamped and over his head with his project. I told him "sure I would be more than glad to help him and told him he could bring his car over for a couple months and we could work on it. When he was to busy I could do work on it in my spare time to keep the project going."

A couple weeks later after talking out some details and planning what we were going to do he moved the car into my garage and we got started. It needed lots I didn't have all the tools I needed but was planning on getting some of the stuff anyway so I purchased all the stuff needed. Along the way I had to go buy a new compressor and had some other friends give me some of the stuff needed for the project. His brother donated a new rear end and we both acquired stuff from all over.

The car was coming along quite nicely. I even took a lot of hours and painted the whole thing for him. Got some of the paint and supplies from a few friends that were in the paint business so other than time and some money that worked out well.

The car was finally running now and his friends and mine were coming over often to see how beautiful the thing was turning out. It was looking and running better than most of all our cars.

Then their developed a electronic problem with the engine management system we were using. He had a few jobs going on out of town and lost his normal job and started school so he was real busy and I told him I could take on the engine problem while he was out of town and getting other things done. He gave me a set of keys so I could work on it.

Registration and tabs were due while he was out of town, I needed to drive it to fix the problems so I went down and paid the fees. It was only a few hundred bucks and I didn't really mind. I love working on cars and It is something I do in my spare time anyway.

Summer had come and with the long days I had plenty of daylight to get the tuning figured out. His friends and mine would still come over all the time. Some of them helped with the laptop while I drove and tuned together. Some of his friends were becoming my friends and we did things all the time.

My friend called one week and I asked when he was coming back to town. He got a bit upset at my questioning and we got into a small fight and didn't talk for a few weeks.

The guys were saying how nice I looked in the car and I was really proud of it. I though to my self **** I wish I had built one like this for my self. I drove the car around out to dinner a few times and things like that just so it wouldn't sit unused. Besides I loved the car and Our friends wanted small rides now and then as passengers.

My friend had called every couple weeks and even missed a month during summer. He had got a couple long jobs out of town and it was great but I did miss the help during the summer. I did a little more work than I wanted to. He called and said he would be home in a couple weeks.

Well two days before he got home He called and we got into a huge fight about this graphics that I put on the car that he did not agree with. It had several airbrushed manufactures names down the side. I told him the were going to give us sponsor money for the names and we really needed to get some reimbursement back for all the time and money I had dumped into the car.

He did not agree and wanted the names removed. We hung up.

That night I thought to my self damn I have put almost 6 months of hard work into this car. Used up some of my money, took up my garage space, bought tools. I looked out in the driveway and
saw the stripped parts car that we got to swap out some parts and thought Hmm.

Then next morning after much thought through the night I went out with the cordless drill. Drill off the VIN tabs and swapped them with the new cars tabs. Went down to the vehicle registration and got some new fresh plates for the nice car.

O did forget to tell you? I moved that day too.

Many of my friends and his thought he was a SOB anyway and I took much better care of the car anyway. They even helped me move and run interference to miss lead my friend so he didn't catch on till it was to late.

My ole friend came home that night and he was SOL. HA HA HA left with that parted out hunk of scrap. That's what he gets for leaving me so long with all the work and having the nerve to have some say in how is car is built. That will teach him.

Is this legal? Is it right? How about even though most of the friends think it would be the best for all?

HELL NO!!

Now what do you think? When put like this, how does the story with the i-club sound

I don't even like Alex that much but that does not matter one bit.
Wrong is Wrong.

Why? It's quite apropos, regardless of which side you are on. If you favor Alex, you can agrfee with it. If you favor Nick, you can at least see where those who favor Alex are coming from.

you forgot to mention where he asked you about the money you put into it, over several months... and you lagged and laggd... he brought this up with his buddies, and they didn't help him...

and then you took that car away from him.

yeah, you soaked up all that great stuff with that car, and while he was off doing other things, in his own right, you stripped him of this.

Alex owns this place... it's his. If he doesn't want to do anything more than yell at those who are screwing around, or if he doesn't like a vendor, then that's his right... cause this is his club.

If he doesn't like you, then he can ban you. It's his club. If he didn't like me, he could boot me, cause that's his right. however, i see his point of view in much better context than Nick's.

you guys get the monkey... and as the vendors leave this place of chaos, you will find yourselves in an abyss.

Stop blaming all the world's problems on the WRX.

I bought mine with my own damned money and I still make the payments every month.

I came from an Outback which I loved dearly, and passed to my father. He says it's the greatest car he's ever driven.

The RS was sold in VERY limited numbers with NO advertising campaign for a few short years. SOA has sold more WRX's in the last 12 months than RS's in four years. OF COURSE most of the new members are driving WRXs!

I'm SURE that there were a nice little share of RS drivers who were jerks... but with a smaller club it's easier to weed such people out and deal with them. All the WRX has done is give you a larger influx of mostly the VERY SAME people you had before... we're autocrossers and rallycrossers, we know what pace notes are and cheer for Petter (when he doesn't roll over).

You, sir, are the problem with the club. You take a sticky situation and throw your despair and blame at it. Wah wah.

Try doing something positive instead.

Wait till they find out that OT posts dont count in your post count... they can whore it up all they want, be moderated, and get fed up with it. It won't get them any closer.

And the BEST PART is all the people posting for the 1st time in OT in a long time.... like you... coming out of the woodwork... to complain about OT and the site.

HomeSlice: I think the site will do fine.

Whenever there's trouble, people seem to materialize to try to stir things up. They like the drama.

At the end of the day, it's a web site. I think we both agree on THAT.

If some kids want to come prancing around in OT... well, it's OT! Like KC said, it doesn't count toward status change. You can go ahead and ignore them. If they go talking stupid crap in any tech forums, they'll get booted.

The mods are doing a good job of keeping this place in some kind of working order. I'm jobless right now, so I've sat here the last three days reading the site constantly... I've seen some real BS threads pop up. Lots of them. And seen the mods smack them down.

As of the third day of the nonsense, things seem MUCH better. I'm confident we'll get through this.

I don't know what the story is with this Alex bit, or why the domain changed names. I do know that a) I bought my WRX with my own hard earned cash, and b) I find this site a great place to pick up tips and mod info for my new baby.
How else are people across the country supposed to talk? True, there will be some meatheads, but there always will be.
Anyway, there's my .02. You guys can have the soapbox back.

Wow, that thread that was up, that had the link to Alex's site, the thread that's gone now...

Can Alex dig it any deeper? He put up those pages from the Mod forum, and it just makes him look more and more like a male organ.

Oh well, I guess some of the BAICers can have fun over there.

Ciao!
