Default Fun on Hwy 17...

So I'm coming down 17 tonight from Santa Cruz and I see this Silver WRX ahead of me... We have some nice fun down 17 (uhhh streetracing is badd.....mmmkaaayyy) and we come up on a Blue WRX Wagon..

So, who was the Silver sedan, and who was in the Blue WRX wagon?

Anyways, that was fun!

Get a V1.
Then it won't be the cops that will get you anyway..
What will get you is coming around that blind curve at 90+ and finding 2 lanes full of cars frozen in time. :-)
Or maybe you wait til 3am and then find the herd of deer in the middle of the road. That is my favorite.

Do those things work on a road like 17?
I have seen so many gnarly accidents on that road - especially in the fog/rain.

Yes.
I bought one and it is by far the best radar detector I have ever seen/used/owned.
It helps you learn where all the false signals are with its front/back/side indicators, and seems to see around bends real well. Like that turn southbound just before summit road, and the one after the summit where the cops like to sit.
You'll catch a signal off the cars in front of you going around and know before you take the turn that there is something there.
I don't recommend flying on 17 even though our cars can handle it, but I really hate the edge case type tickets. There are enough nutcases out there already to be ticketed to waste the cops time with someone doing just a little above.
Plus, if you know where the cops are you can encourage those nice psychos to be stupid near them.
