Unhappy Windshield cleanser??

Do you guys use any cleanser for your windshield? Coz i can't see very clearly in the rain~ Maybe it's my wiper~ but I already try to clean the wiper blade, but still no use. And i used the windshield fluid. After few wipes, it just back to unclear (kidda oil on the glass). Can someone give me some tips?

Thank you very much~

By the way. How much is the hid kit now? for H4

thx

John

The white oily stuff is on the inside. I try to clean it off with Windex but that stuff leave lines behind despite what it advertise. I can suggest you get a can of glass cleaner from a window shop. Works great but the pressure can isn't too good for the environment.

This worked for me.

Buy this foam window cleaning product called Bonami. I bought it at Walmart. Comes in a can. Clean the outside and inside of windsheild using newspaper instead of paper towel (no streaks). Then I installed brand new blades. After that I can see where as before I could not. I bought cheap blades for Canadain Tire instead of buying the PIAA's I had planned on.
I've been told the film has to do with the shipping of the car. Don't know.
Hope this helps

I like the Rain-X type products. Don't even need wipers above 30mph usually but it wears off after a week of steady wiper use. On the side and back windows it stays working for weeks. Great stuff. Theres quite a few different brands out there.

Auto Glym Car Glass Polish. It's a bit costly, but it makes your glass look crystal clear. Specialty sells it.

Just addin' my 2 cents...
I have used rain-x for a few years now and I do not put it on my front windshield anymore. It works great if you dont use your wipers but when they are on I was getting a white film as the wipers passed accross the glass. Not terrible, just kinda annoying. I have it on all the rest of my windows and mirrors and it works great, especially at night. visability is greatly improved.
Thanks to everyone that gave tips on glass cleaner inside, I'll try some of it out.

I'll second that. I really need to redo mine because it's been a while, but I'm never going to waste my time with windex again.

Is Rain-X just a form of wax that makes the water bead? I used a product like this in the past, and found it worked great initially, but it held dirt in the film and made it harder to see when the windows became dirty.

I currently use Eagle One window cleaner from Canadian Tire and it works great. With all the toxins, etc in the air I expect to have to clean my windows weekly. If you don't clean your windows on a regualr basis, your wiper blades will wear out quicker.

The Auto Glym polish looks like a liquid wax. You put a bit on a towel, wipe it over the glass. Takes a few seconds for it to dry up, then use a clean part of a cloth and wipe the dried up bits to reveal the cleanliness and shine.

I think Specialty sells it for ~$11 w/ the i-Club discount. I haven't seen it anywhere else tho.

Auto Glym is great stuff but beware if you're a perfectionistic car guy, you'll hate it when yer glass gets dirty in the next 4 or 5 days. I find that it doesn't really last, but then again, I'm one of those perfectionists :P

Yup, but only with Auto Glym do you get in clean enough that you notice the difference that soon.

Hey guys:

Not sure if they sell it at retail up there, but I use Invisible Glass by Stoner. It totally blows away Windex and the other grocery-store products. Go to www.invisibleglass.com for more detail and to find local stores that carry it. Or, you can order directly from their website.

Nah, I don't have any financial interest, just trying to help out.

This may sound crazy but I use The Mothers' Clay Bar System on my entire car (including winshield) four times a year. This clay bar get's stuff off that you can't even see and it works great. I also ues Eagle One 20/20 glass cleaner and two good microfiber towels. These towels work wonders.
