Does anyone else feel like i-club's new site is beyond depressing? I don't give a flip about color schemes that much, but hey...the LEAST they could do for us is make it appealing to the eyes.

Let's just stick with i-Club. Who cares about this American/Russian conflict.

the whole idea of banning a member for a week because of their use of language is silly. Are we a bunch of little girls who can't take the odd swear?

The other site is a complete joke though. I saw a thread titled "i-club, the site for alfriedesq!" and stopped reading right there, shut down my system, and vowed to NEVER visit again.

imho, both sites suck.

Steve, I think the problem that the Mods and owners of THIS site and any other that has corporate sponsorship are concerned is, that they have to portray a certain level of professionalism online, since they are dealing with thousands of dollars in advertising and sponsorship money.

Swearing, to a degree can serve a useful purpose, HOWEVER you would agree that any idiot can use foul language and try to be a big man online, where it serves no purpose. The Vancouver I-Club section has been able to survive just fine with no swearing.

If a site continues to allow profanity with no limits, it's content and maturity level can really go downhill fast. I know myself, as a paying sponsor to websites, do not approve of an unmoderated site where language, racism or posts in bad taste in general are allowed.

That is not how I treat my customers, nor do I wish to be associated with any site that allows this.

I "know" that the I-Club/Nasioc feud goes much deeper than this...but I'm not about to comment on it.

Have you guys seen the unbelievable amount of post whoring in their Vancouver forum?
The best part was that they removed all posts except the technical ones from people's post count.
I think I'll frequent both sites. If the other one turns into a clubSI, it will be fun to go there and rant every now and then.

I registered today so I can check back once in a while and post if needed, but I don't see having enough time to check both sites for what will most likely be the same content. Too many sites to keep up with as it is.

Given the choice between losing thousands in corporate spnsorship, and limiting language, I would pick the latter.

I guess it's time to open the good old thesaurus to find other methods of expressing myself.

at least I still have this guy ======>

At any rate, even with the strict moderating rules and what not, NASIOC (formerly i-club) still went down hill quality wise really quickly. I stopped reading all the other forums before last Christmas and only frequent VIC. Now, I just hang with those fun Brits
