Default OEM intake question

I' am trying to put in a picture in for the first time. I wonder if it will work. Anyways the air intake pipe has 2 or more parts to it. If I disconencted the one I have show it makes a loud intake noise so I know that the engine is taking in more air. The airbox is sealed and the K&N filter is inserted. Is it ok to drive like this? Is there anything in the beginning of the pipe that I need? That picture I got from the internet of a 2.5 Impreza RS. I don't see much difference between the MY02

The picture didn't work. Can you help me with inserting it in? THX

Default Are you

just driving with the stock airbox and nothing else? As long as a filter is in place, I don't think it will hurt anything, I did it myself for quite awhile. People will tell you that you're pulling hot air and to go to a cold air intake from the fender. I think most CAIs, being made of metal, transfer a lot of engine compartment heat so they're not as cold as hoped. Anyway, more noise does not always equal more flow. Through some trial and error, I have gone to a length of ABS pipe on the stock airbox. I think this smooths and tunes the flow. I used a stopwatch and ran some time trials because it easy to associate more noise with more power.

where's that "you suck at the internet" pic??

you need to host the pic on an online server, not your local harddrive. there are plenty to choose from that host images for you. You then use them as the link to post pictures.

Ok, thanks for the tips you guys. I will just cintinue driving with the intake pipe open. Ill just clean the K&N more often than 50k miles. Is there something in the beginning of the pipe that I need so I don't hurt my engine? About the pictures, what's the best host.
