Default BOV Cleaning???

I have a TURBOXS RFL BOV, it has been installed for almost a year now. Lately it seems like its not working right, either doesn't sound loud enough, or just doesn't open or blow off like it should. does anybody have any suggestions on what this could be?? I was thinking maybe cleaning the piston and greasing it. but i have no idea what kind of grease to use and how much. If somebody could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated......Thanks

On a WRX (with its open hood scoop) you need to wipe down the piston every once in a while to clean out the gunk that can accumulate in it.

The other thing we've noticed is that when you start blowing oil though your turbo, it will gunk up the bov quite a bit.

Every 3 to 6 months just pull the piston out and wipe it down.

It's not really normal, but it does happen.

Don't oil it, just get it clean (both piston and bore).
