Post BC Rallying: Stand up and be counted

This is a reminder that the first performance rally to be held in the BC mainland in approx 10 years will be held on June 24th.

More info at www.rallybc.com.

Remember, our ambition is to grow rallying to national-level status and beyond in BC, and have an entire series. WIthout people coming out to show interest, help with workers, etc. that will never happen ! If you've ever wondered how you can get rallies locally, this is the first step of the process.

Lots of i-club members owners are already involved.

Stand up and be counted ! Worst case, spectate ! Best case, help run it !

-Pat

I quickly checked out the wedsite, thanks for the heads up. Do I understand that the June 24th rally is in Cache Creek? Hmmmmm
I will try to make it.

I'll be volunteering there, but the volunteer organizer told me that i may need my own car since she may put me as one of the marshalls.

Thumbs up

I'm going up with my son (Owen) on the Saturday morning and staying overnight. We'll be going the scenic route (via Whistler) as we live in West Van.

What time and by which route is everyone going to Cache Creek? Perhaps we can caravan up there? Not that I get lost or anything

Ashton and those who would like to go:

Since the volunteers need to be there at 9, so when is the best time to start heading there? I'll off work 7:45pm the night before, so anytime would be good for me!!

Leave me msg if you have any idea!

Well, let's assume it will take us 4 hours to get there (added safety margin). That means we will be leaving around 5am. That is a pretty early morning to drive all day and then work the course in the heat (hopefully). Perhaps we want to go earlier or late Friday night. I get off from work around 5pm.

Anyone else planning to go the night before or on the day? We should work out a route that is best for everyone.

I'm going up with my son Owen on Saturday morning. We're aiming for a 5am leave from West Van and doing the senic route (Whistler, Pemberton). The roads should be quiet enough.

Does anyone know if 4 hours is enough ? too much ?

Hey Peter, if you are planning to go through Whistler. It may not be enough time. Since from town to Pemberton, easily take you 3 hours. And after Pemberton, there is no freeway. I'm afriad that it's too rush for you.

Thanks for the tip Fred.

It doesn't look too far on the map but that can be deceiving.

I plan on coming back that way on Sunday with a bit of fishing thrown in so maybe I'll take the easy route via the highway in the morning.
