Default Need help w/Tires

yesterday i called my insurance company and asked them if they could cover my car for slashed tires and of course they said yes. Now i just need help deciding which tires to get. Note that i am paying the difference for tires that are more expensive then the RE92's. I was looking into the Falken 712's but i have not seen the prices. So can someone recondmend me some tires with the price of a set of them. THanks

Well the concensus from around here is that it's tough to beat the Kuhmo 712s for the price. Yokohama ES100s are very good tires for the price as are Falken Azenis. If you're looking for the best then look at the Bridgestone S-03 but expect to pay $$$. Also if the insurance company is paying for RE92s, then you will have some money to burn because those pieces of crap are expensive!!

PS - Want to come slash my tires so I can get better ones??

some say 225, some say 215. It depends on who you ask, and what they have done to the suspension

Although i'm no expert in wheels/tires i think all you can put on the stocks are 205's.

Here is what i learned:

205/55-16 (section width/aspect ratio-wheel diameter) should be the number on the stock tires.

section width is the width of the tire measured from sidewall to sidewall ON A GIVEN RIM WIDTH. so our rims should be 16 x 6. if we had 17 x 7 then the sidewall number should be 215, 17 x 8 should be 225 and so on. i guess thats how it is. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

You can probably go up to 215s if you really want to. I've been running 215s on my 15" rims for the last year without any problems, and I hammer them pretty hard on 17 everyday, and at rallycrosses. It will give you a little more stick, but make you a bit slower, tank your gas mileage, and make the steering heavier at slow speeds. I'm going back to 205s with my next tire change.
