Default www.baic.net - the "relaxed" I-Club....

Ok this is the 4th time I have tried to write this -- I really hope its the last one. I can't seem to get the words out right. There is a new web site up at http://www.baic.net. The goal is simple -- we want a simple pleasant environment where people can meet new friends and find usefull information about our common love, Subarus.

If you want to join a website that is based on the idea of friendship and community, then go here. If you want to help other people out with your knowledge in a particular subject, or hold BBQ's, or have install fests at your house, then come to http://www.baic.net. If you are looking for real help with your problem, or just want to meet some new friendly people, come to http://www.baic.net.

If you are a troll, then do NOT come to our site. If you just want to cause problems, waste server bandwidth, and generally irritate people, do not bother showing up -- please. If you are under the impression that what you do, say, or act like on the internet doesnt matter because none of these people are your real "friends", then do not bother coming here.

If I havnt done a good job of describing the site, then just come check it out for yourself. Give it a shot, you might really like it. We dont want to be big, and we certainly dont want to compete with NASIOC (or i-club.com) who have both done an awsome job at creating huge user sites. We want to be a small close-knit community.

As if I havnt mentioned it enough, here's the URL again: http://www.baic.net

It isn't black, its blue!

Default Not ANOTHER board!!!!

So, as of today, we now have the BAIC board, a Bay Area board on both "i-club" and on "nasioc".

So there are at least 3 boards to check when you want to figure out where subaru enthusiasts meet to eat doughnuts

Yet I can't get a single other car to join me for a fun Sunday drive.

I'm sorry, but I really have to say- this is getting rather silly

Somebody drop me a PM, or just show up when you want to actually drive your car........

Meanwhile, it looks as if I'll have to start posting for drives and rallies on BMW, Audi, DSM, and Miata boards, as there is obviously nothing in the subie camp but a bunch of doughnut loving posers, (not that there's anything wrong with doughnuts, but 3 KK meets every week?, come on!!!).

I can just see the new ad campaign;

"Subaru, for when you want to go to Krispy Kreme in style"

This is beyond sad!

Default Actually, I would -but......

I'm working tonight.

In all honesty, I haven't made it to any of the KK meets, and I do love doughnuts,
so maybe I'm being a little out of line in bashing the KK meets, but Subarus- especially imprezas and WRX's are supposed to be DRIVERS cars, where are the drivers?????

Maybe I should attend a KK meet and see what I'm missing, but in the meantime, I'll be either working or driving.........

I feel you but I can't afford all the problems that comes with driving my car proper.

Once in a blue moon though and on a track.

I always go for drives. I just don't like to wait around for the other cars to catch up or worry about some pu$$y trying to tell me I drive too fast. Where are you located?

You never entered in your birthday, so according to the COPPA (whatever the hell that stands for) law, it assumed you were under 13 years old and therefore could not access the site until I approved you. Your fine now..

A while ago, I came up with an idea for a Subaru web-site/club, whose purpose was to just go on fun drives, to new locations, and document the experience. You could then add your own "drives" to some database of maps, pics, movies, and stories as a way of sharing it with everyone. But, in the end, I realized it was just too diffcult to get people together for something like that. So, I gave up.

Oh, well.
