Default i just got a ticket for speeding, and my dad gave me the storm

i need some help and suggestions if please. I drove 10 mph hour the speed limit in CA, and i was wondering if anyone knows the price range for the ticket will be. ALso, this is my FIRST ticket, and i do intend to take traffic school. Also, i hear traffic school is 30 dollars, is this correct?

Please drop a line and help me if you have the time, thanks

Michael

I havent had a ticket since the last rate increases....

Was it a 65 in a 55?

or a 35 in a 25.

It makes a difference I believe on the new fine schedule.

And I think the $30 is just the "administrative fee" the court charges you to go to traffic school.

So $30 for administrative fees

Plus the actuall cost of a traffic school...$45 plus I think is what I paid last time.

Plus the cost of the ticket. (I won't guess, since I don't want you to worry about an amount if I'm wrong)

Hey Michael, unless it specifies on your ticket, online traffic school is always an option. There are certain counties that don't allow it but it should say when you get the actual citation.

And you're prolly looking at $100-$150 total.

Yup. When u get your citation in the mail and if you meet the requirements they ask you to write a written request to attend traffic school, send a self addressed stamped envelope (those cheap bastards!), and a $34 admin fee. Then they'll send you all the contact info and a list of traffic schools (regular and online) that is recognized by the court. Its up to you to shop around for a school but most of them are in the $30-40 price range.

Just got a ticket for doing 65 in a 45 southbound through the McArthur tunnel between the Marina and Richmond districts in SF by the CHP.

Ticket = $136
Traffic School FEE = $24

Total for Getting Caught in a Blatent Speed Trap = $160

Total does not include cost of traffic school. Good news is I can take traffic school online.

Okay, first of all online traffic school can be found for less than $30. Second, it will take you all of 20 minutes to complete unless you are a complete retard. And from my interactions with you I am fairly certain you are not. Third, and most important, you should fight the ticket. 10 mph over the speed limit is bull@#$%. I am not suggesting this course of action because I think it is ridiculous that you would get a ticket for such as action.

If you snoop around on the internet you find out all the politics and beaurocracy involved in traffic court. It's far easier to get off than one might think and, even if you do lose, you can most likely still do traffic school.

I have recently received my 2nd ticket in a month for 9 mph over the limit and I fully intend to fight it tooth and nail. But that's just me. Good luck and watch out for cops because if you do go to traffic school you can't do it again for another 18 months!!

Oh and tell pops that I say chill out, it's just a ticket!!!
