First time I've heard that a 1.8L intake tract will give you any horsepower gain... it's a new rumor to me. What is most important is a smooth intake tract that retains some form of air plenum in it so you don't lose low-end torque. I can save you $500 right now in parts and tell you there is no need to replace your clutch because you have an intake and a free-flowing cat. Replace the disk if it's old/worn, but there's no need to put a 'bigger' clutch in. I wouldn't do the flywheel either until you replace the clutch- it's labor-intensive to do if you can it yourself and hellaciously expensive to have it done if you can't. The lighter flywheel will not free up massive amounts of power- it will spin up faster and make for quicker gear changes, but I personally don't think they are worth the time/money to do on it's own. As for where to buy parts, there are dozens of vendors who still sell parts for old school Subarus- check the 'links' up in the top left corner of the main NASIOC.com page for some to investigate.

Well if you keep the 2.2 box and put the 1.8 pipe from the MAF to the throttle body (which is what I have now) there might be some power difference, but I also modified the 2.2 airbox a little for a 3"+ hole going into the fenderwell... It would be an interesting experiment though, cause the 1.8 pipe looks an aweful lot like most aftermarket pipes but its plastic, its even 3" in diameter the whole way through.
