Does the wrx takes 4 or 5 quarts of engine oil? the reason I ask is because I remember correctly my last oil change they pour like 4.5 quarts in my rex. Today I went to a different shop for the oil change they only pour 4 quarts in my rex and they said is full up. So what do u guys do? 4 or 5 in your rex??

Yeah, let the car sit overnight after the oil change; check the dip stick again and is low on 4 quarts, stupid technician
, then throw in an extra quart and the dip stick looks right. Huuhh, u could never fully relies on the others while come to our rex; even on these kind of minor and I mean minor car mantainance service.BTW, which's the middle-finger monkey??? |

IMO, 4 is on the low side. 5 is overfilling. 4.8 is capacity. You can never drain every drop of oil out. I usually go about 4.5.

You should really change the oil yourself. It's super easy. I don't even need to jack the car up. It also gives you a chance to check out your front axle seals, and motor for wear and leaks.
As for capacity, I usually put 4 and a "heavy" half quart of oil in the car. Drive it around the block, then check it again 20 minutes later. Another trick (which you've probably already read about) is to pre fill the oil filter with fresh oil. The filter goes on in such a way that you can do this without spilling oil. "BTW, which's the middle-finger monkey???" the monkey got "shocked"! ![]() |

I also have a Fumoto valve, which shaves a few minutes off my oil change time, and now there's almost no mess! I love my Fumoto valve!!! |

It'll also vary depending on whether you change the oil filter.

For the love of all things sacred, PLEASE change your oil filter every time you do your oil!
As for how I get to everything...I dunno? I guess I'm skinny! I just throw a pan under there, grab my work gloves and flip the valve. About 1/3 of a beer later I move the pan just a bit, unscrew the filter 3 or 4 turns and let it bleed dry for another 1/3 beer. After that I take the filter completely off and stick it in the ZipLok bag the trash company leaves for me... |
