Default Gronholm made Jeff Gordon Laugh!

Kinda funny.....I guess Gronholm really wanted to give Jeff the real WRC feeling!!!!

"Sitting beside him in the co—drivers seat was NASCAR hero Jeff Gordon, and both men emerged from the incident uninjured, even if Gronholm was a little red faced.

"I was just going too fast, I guess," Marcus explained. "I hit the bank and it just rolled. Jeff was just laughing. I guess I will just have to go on from here and win it now." "

Gordon ended up winning his heat at the Nations Cup, with the US beating Italy 3-1. He was teamed by Colin Edwards and Jimmi Johnson.

Gordon is such a wasted talent in NASCAR. Really would have liked to have seen him in a proper racing car on raod courses.

Saw it on the tail end of Sportscenter last night.

Kudos to the American guys for taking part in it. WRC is on the rise in America, it's cool to see the NASCAR guys getting into it. I would love to see an American racing at the WRC level, maybe there's hope here. Not like Gordon needs any more cash, maybe WRC will be intriguing enough to have him make the jump...

Let the flaming begin, I guess.

gordon's early carreer consisted mainly of dirt racing, in sprint cars, its no suprise he'd do pretty good in a rally car. if i were him, i'd be itchin to try something new.

ROBBY Gordon was in it last year and he was about set to dust everyone until he got carried away and flipped his car. I think Robby is the talented Gordon wasting away in a NASCAR.

I would like to see Robby go to WRC, his Baja experience would really prove useful, plus his home where he grew up and his old trucks are in the same community I live in. It would be cool to see someone so close to home win a championship or atleast race in WRC. Maybe I could give it a shot next .

You ever go watch Robby at Glamis on Thanksgiving weekend with his ProTruck? I got a buddy in Riverside that goes up there every year. I haven't talked to him yet to see if he went this year.

I have seen videos of him in action there. What a lunatic.

i had a post after last year's ROC about Robby. He had an offer from Ford to test for their WRC efforts I guess. He turned it down to go to NASCAR. I guess 36 races in your own country compared to 14 all over the globe is better.

Both Gordons are mega talented. I would like to see a WRC or any racer strap on a sprint car and take that for a spin they'd **it their pants for sure. The boys going in circles do slide big time. You want talent, catch and hold a slide on asphalt at 175mph, that my friends is far from easy.

I would also be willing to bet many a road racer would love to get into nascar. for the simple reason of $$$. It's all their and nascar is very very healthy. Even Bernie sees what nascar is doing and would love nothing better than to tap into some of that sponsor money.

Anyways all those cagers can't hold a candle to the 2 wheelers

Default Gordon does have alot of money for now.

Till his wifes gets 1/2. I heard that after the divorce they are going to change Jeff Gordons car number to 12 since his wife will have 1/2 of everything else.

Autoweek constantly picks on Jeff in the back, "But Wait, Theres More" section. They had a picture of a mobile home painted up in the "Rainbow Warrior" scheme and stated that it was his new digs.

speed channel had some good clips of that on their speed news last night... even had audio of Gordon in car.... lol... he was saying... "wooohooo... no friggin way! no way?!" and laughing his arse off...

it was classic

i think he's one of the more talented roundy round boys.
whenever they have to "turn right" he seems to be up in the top 3 consistently... i think he'd do well in rally once he got the hang of it

fun stuff!
cheers
Jamie

Default Many drivers could switch

Many of the drivers in any world class racing series could easily switch from one to the other. There are lots of folks that have already shown the basic talent is easily adapted to the new series. Just to name a few current examples.

Take the NASCAR drivers that crossed over to the Rolex 24hrs at Daytona and represented themselves very well.

Tony Stewart has on several occasions run the Indy 500 and a NASCAR race on the same day and was competitive in both. Folks have already mentioned Robby Gordon. Jeff is talented enough to race anything with wheels.

If you go back over the years you see folks like Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, AJ Foyte etc. etc. ran in both road circuits and circle tracks and with proper equipment could beat anyone in the field.

Sometimes I find the deification of WRC drives just a little tiresome. Yes they are good, but there are several hundred other world class drivers that could do the same thing if they chose to persue that particular motor sport.

Default Gordon needs a seatbelt..

Just make sure if they race golf carts you put one in it for Gordon. I saw the video of him falling out off one, he lost major cool points.
