When I was in high school on Vancouver Island (Mill Bay), we used to go for treks around town in our free time and try to discover secret hidden little places where we could escape the eyes of our teachers (it was a boarding school). Anyways, on the water front deep in the trees we found a house that looked like it hadn't been lived in for decades. It was all boarded up and overgrown by bushes and trees and so on. We broke in and started looking around. We started in the basement where there were still clothes in the wash basin, and some drying on metal hangers, but they were just shreds of clothes, long since disintegrated. We were freaked out having no idea what was in the house. It was very dark as there was no electricity and it was surrounded by thick, high trees. Anyways, we moved up the stairs to the main floor. We had to break through another door. On the main floor there were things stacked all over the floor space. Old books and magazines, boxes of clothes. Everything stunk of decay. There was a calendar on the wall and we could make out that it was from 1956. This house had been basically untouched since then. Then we started hearing noises from upstairs like people walking around quietly and whispering. We were freaking out. We left. But we came back the next day with baseball bats and some more people. We decided to go upstairs. It was the scariest moment of my life going through the boarded door into the attick. When we got up there all we found was some fleeing racoons who had made it their home. But we also found silver ware and other "loot". We debated for a long time whether we should take anything. In the end we decided not to. We were convinced the place was haunted. We never knew why this house had not been torn down. It was in an ideal location for a beautiful ocean front home. Anyways, when we came back a week later the place had been boarded up again. We never entered again.

The infamous Dick's Grave. I didn't find it too freaky... still makes you kinda wonder who Dick was. The tombstone only has his name, nothing else. Located in the cemetary just past Cap College.

This guy from Saint Georges went to Dick's grave and he pee'd on his grave and they took a picture. When they developed the picture, all the tombs were missing on the picture.

Another time a bunch of my friends went and we just walked around. ALl of us but one were all freaked out just because we heard about the guy from Saint Georges. We didn't do much, just looked around then when we packed it in my friends car, a 2000 CR-V (pretty new at the time), as we drove away, the entire car stalled (its an automatic)...the car wouldnt start again, so, needless to say, I ran and bussed home

There is a haunted house close to Chartwell Elementary and Sentinel in West Vancouver. I heard a guy hung himself on top of his indoor pool, and the water turned like grayish-green ever since. I went inside the house, as they've been for sale for the past few years, its scary. Just chilly scary beacuse everything in there looks so...er...a century old kind of thing

Anybody know any scary places to go? I wouldn't mind a lil yell here and there this Christmas.

Default Ghost story...N.Van. kinda long

A true story...

A few years ago, during the summer, my friend dropped off his girlfriend in North Van after a night on the town.. It was quite late but the air was warm. She lived near one of the reserves where houses were far and few in between. The area was quite heavily wooded. He rode one of those little Honda scooters...and as we all know they're not too fast but it was new and reliable. Anyhow as he started towards home he noticed a little dog in front of some dense brush and thought it may be a stray. As a dog lover, he got off the scooter and started walking towards it thinking he'd be able to take it to the SPCA..."Come on little puppy..." as he clapped his hands together....At this point he was about 50 feet from it, and he could only make out its small shape and glowing eyes. The dog didn't move. "Come on little puppy.." he continued...but still no movement from the animal...Now 30 ft....from the dog...still nothing as if it was a statue...He continued calling out to it as he walked towards it...now 20 ft..no movement,
10 ft, and now he got a real good look it the dog... It had a snout that was about 3 ft long! He was freaked but knew the worst thing to do was to run from dog so he started walking backwards towards his bike. The dog started to move and walk towards him at the same pace he was walking.. He finally gets back to his bike and yes, just like the movies it doesn't start on the first try.. but finally he gets it going.. He starts accelerating down the road but the dog gives chase... He is doing 60km and the dog is right on his tail. At this point another identical dog has joined the chase.. He gives the scooter everything its got... about 90km, and the dogs eventually fade in the distance... We later find out the area was near the burial grounds for some Native chief.... and those dogs may have been guardians..

The place where I got married is supposed to be haunted. I have heard a couple of stories about people being on the dock and looking the hotel and seeing people looking back at them even though there was nobody in the place. The wigwam inn has quite the sorted history and it is too long to get into.

The farm that we used to holiday at in south africa was creepy to say the least. At night you could hear people walking around upstairs even though nobody ever lived upstairs. It was either that or my cousins playing evil jokes on us.

well if you guys want to get freaked out i think you should the Korean BBQ house on Kingsway right accross from Kight&Day my mom's friend went there for grand opening mind you no one else was there only her and her husband and the staff that works there and they sat by the washroom so she get's up and goes to the washroom half way through she hears a woman crying so she looks down and she see's a pair of feet so she thought nothing of it. so my mom's friend comes back out and say's to her husband did you see a woman go in crying what was wrong with her then her husband said what woman i diden't see anybody walk through here so they both turn and look around and see no other table but them only and the staff so they got really freaked out and payed the bill and ran out. the lady tells my mom the whole story so my mom checks out the history on the land it turns out it used to be a funeral home
