1100 miles on the new rex, parked next to a red f-bird shopping last night.
Today - red paint and a nice dent on the passenger door. They must have opened that door really hard. Now my day is ruined, and will be ruined everytime I see that dent. Onto other matters, this is my first post, and I have a couple questions: I want to make my rex handle better for little cash...what is the cheapest/easiest way to start out? Can anyone recommend a good 16" tire? Thanks, Scott

Me neither, it drives my friends nuts when I always drive to the Faaaaaar End of the parking lot to park.
"There's a spot right out front, why don't you just park there?" "Next time, you drive then." |

I've got a story about a guy who parked his brand new Porsche 911s way out at the end of the lot so no one would "ding" him. Came out after work (and a T-storm) to find a tree on top of his car.

Try a paintless dent removal. As long as the dent isn't creased it should come out fine. I recently had a dent in on of my doors removed and I can't tell that it was ever there.

I noticed a dent on my hood yesterday. Thing the gorrillas at the shop that put my alarm in did it. Is Dent Doctor a company you can find int he yellow pages or something?

Maybe you could search the web for a local franchise. There are also other companies doing dent removal. Ask your dealer for a name. The car dealers provide most of the business to these guys. Some only work for dealers and you'll have to request the work through the dealer to get it done.

I second that motion! I'm so picky about where I park sometimes a circle a little in a somewhat crowded lot to find the best isolated spot. If I HAVE to park near someone it's a very small car and NO two-doors, those things are as big as barn doors and would hit anything within 20 feet of them when they open!

How much does this new-fangled paintless dent removal cost? I've never heard of it.
I have a rather large dent in the side of my passenger door (almost 2" diameter) that isn't creased, so it isn't too noticeable. The last time I had body work done it cost me $300 to have a very very small ding pulled out of the door. It had to be repainted, and the new paint over the fixed ding cracked after only a year. I've been putting off having this bigger dent fixed for over a year now, cuz it costs too much! PS: b4 anyone recommends it, I have tried unsuccessfully pulling the dent with a strong soft rubber suction cup. The damn thing just won't come out! |

that is why where ever i go i park a good walk away. sorry to hear that dude. as for cheap and better handling, yes you are right to go for tires. from what ive read on the board, go for the bridgestone SO2 or SO3 for a little more, but if it is really cheap that you want then get some khumo ecsta supra 712.

I had a door dent on my BMW. The dent dr. came to my work place and took it out within a 1/2 hr. I think he charged me about $70 or so. The metal on the BMW is thicker than the Subaru door metal, so I think it may be even easier.
A kid just put a dent in the middle of my WRX door, so now I need to get it taken out. I have heard of others with great experience as well. |

To everybody with a door ding, my condolances.. But where in the door is the dent exactly? I want to put on some molding like on the RSs (my 2002 WRX has none) So where did you get dinged, above or below the crease in the center of the door?

Above the crease and in the middle, but it was not the result of another car door.

my ding is on the lower ridge of the crease...I'm hoping to have it looked at next week...I'd like to see it run less than $100 as well...but who knows...
