Default Engine Managment Computers, which to use?

Got a 98 2.2L. I am planning to drop an ej22t into it in the next 6 months... I have a WRX turbo to replace the small legacy turbo.

I want to start considering Electronic's systems right now. Origionally I was going to us:

J&S Safeguard Ver2
APEXi SAFC
APEXi AVC-R

I have heard alot of people say that they are not happy w/ thier Link System. I was wondering about the Unitech or E-manage. Anyone using these systems? Would they work w/ the ej22t considering it is from an older car?

Also, which ECU would I end up using, my 98 2.2L or the Donar ECU?

I'm going to experiment with the GReddy Emanage. Pre-MY00 should be able to use it for both fuel and timing. Only problem is there is no support from the scooby community for it.

I've been told that too but apparently the pre-'00s have a different signal. I should be getting mine soon and I'll let yo uknow how it goes.

I would like to know as well. i have a legacy turbo (ej22t) and i want some engine management. but for the mods i am going to do, i think a standalone, while very cool, may not be needed.

That's why I'm so amped about the Emanage, IF it works it will be an awesome option for all pre-00 scoobies.

To the best of my knowledge, TPS has never been an issue. The problems with Post MY00 cars is the airflow meter (map) and the problem with WRX's is the coil on plug ignition.

I've heard rumors that there are a few people using it but I haven't talked to any of them. I know that the fuel controller works on all scoobies, its the ignition controller that's been the problem. Now for wiring, I'm going to use the OE diagrams from northursalia.com and the Emanage install guide... hopefully everything will match up.

The thing is even if its "only as good" as an SAFC for the fuel and if the timing control will work for MY99 then its a great buy.

Yup, now if I could only find a complete intercooler with hoses I'd be all set . You'd think there'd be more complete TMICs available.

try these guys for a TMIC w/hoses. www.fsautoparts.com

They had one sitting on the shelf about a month ago, when i went down to pick up my motor. There was also a wrecked wrx in the yard with motor still in it. So there's 2. I don't know what they might want for them though.
