Default Actually selling the TS. Good replacement tho.

This past thursday I smacked the TS into a curb and bent the control arm. It occured to me (by means of Prity ) that had I hit the curb any harder, I'd be looking at another huge repair bill. It seems I get into accidents more frequently than I'd like. by my fault or not, I get into them. So I decided it would be in my best interestes, new house and all, to sell the TS.

The replacement: 1993 Legacy Turbo Sport Sedan. . I've had this car since saturday and I'm already in love. Its a 4EAT, but then I'm used to that. In fact, this transmission behaves better than my last 4EAT. It really pins me to my seat between shifts. the TS just kinda... shifted. I tried a preliminary 0-60 run with it just for kicks. powerbraked to 3200 and launched. high 7's. not bad for 8.7 lbs of boost and no intercooler. Something tells me I'm going to have a good time with this.

Couple of problems - needs valve cover seals. she smokes a little after I turn her off. no huge deal, but it has to be done. And it needs a new CV joint, FR. welcome to early '90s Subaru . Lastly, the hood scoop paint is peeling a little from the top. I've got krylon.

Anyways, she's black on black with sunroof and power everything. AC ( R-12. :monkey: you, environment .) and cruise both work. a little expected exterior wear. desperately needs a wax job. And the best part is, it makes this cool WSHHHHHHHHH above 2800 RPMs .

Wow... good luck with it.

Smart move if you ask me. Keep the payments for the house, pay off the mortgage earlier, or live a little better, and enjoy.

cool.

is this the one from craigslist?

I got the valvecover gaskets done on my '92 at Belknap for about $150; IRA quoted me 3.5 hours... Belknap was 1.5 hours labor.

Remember to let her idle for a minute or two after hard driving before parking her.

Do you have winter or Nokian all season+ tires for it yet?

See you with it at the next dinner or meet!

Roger, I owe you a drink or the social equivalent thereof. Yeah, this is that guy. I had contacted him, and he wanted a little more than I could pay at the time. I gave him a ring on Friday and had the car by Saturday. If you hadn't sent me that link, I'd still be car hunting. I love this thing!

Yeah, I remember about the turbo. I had a 88 Saab 900 turbo. I'm used to it. I did that with my TS for a while too .

I have the M2s on WRX wheels right now. I put the stock REs and steelies back on the TS. the wheels look really nice on it. He has a set of the stock legacy SS wheels with Nitto touring tires that he'll be giving me on tuesday.

Thanks again, man!

C - The first thing I did was add IggBling. IGC sticker on the rear and NESIC stickers in both the rear windows .

Then I did some basic stuff. air filter, fuel filter, headlights, sparks, remove silencer, grounding mod. just basic maintainence and whatnot. this thing was garaged all its life, but the maintainence was sub-par. The air filter disintergrated at a touch. I don't know what was holding this thing together. Someone replaced the muffler, presumably rusted though, with a legacy L muffler. So the exhaust piping goes from like 2.5" down to 1.x" . It just might be hurting my top end a little. Anyways, its gonna need a little TLC but it's in overall good shape.

Stock up on those axels while your at it.

I've only replaced them 4 times in my Legacy (2 on each side).

Igg- are you replacing the valve cover seals and CV joint yourself? Just buy the whole axle... and valve cover seals are easy to do, just make sure you follow the torque specs, they are'nt that tight...

Great move Igg! If you want a hand doing the valve cover gaskets, I'd be more than happy to help. Also if you need a part or two for your interior, I probably have them lying on my garage floor

rhdude - Yeah. I'm doing the whole axle at once. Doing it that way is all brute force and no brains. just the way I like it .

Darshu - Actually, the interior is impeccable. totally clean, very new looking. I'll keep that in mind tho. Unless you have a passenger side visor . And I'd love a hand on the valve cover gaskets. never done those on a subie.

Well done, Iggdawg. How much did that Legacy Turbo set you back, if you don't mind me asking?

If you're already killing the environment with R-12 you might as well go all out and start running catless Not with the 1.x" muffler though.

Then wait until you have to replace that r-12

Then you will be thinking about that R-134 conversion.

I bought a '93 this weekend too...

'93 Taurus SHO. $2500, 109k miles. it is also an automatic-- I don't care because my M3 is "right" and this thing is just cheap, (relatively) reliable transportation. yamaha v6 = ownz ford v6.

mods? uh, none. well, maybe stereo. I have some pimp shiz that I was thinking about putting in the M3, but it seems more right in the taurus S-L-O.

so what bumpersticker should I put on the taurus? nothing mundane like "my other car is an M3".

I was thinking:

"My other car ISN'T a Ford, thank god."

or

"My other car getz mad bootay, yo."

For the SHO, get one that reads "My other car runs."
