Unhappy greddy turbo gauge install wiring help??!!

Hi, i'm gonna install my turbo gauge morrow...and i've been reading over the instructions, and browsing through forums to find out where i should tap the wires to?

like where is the best place to tap into the
12V powersource line?
the ignition line?
the parking light line?
and the ground line to?

these are the descriptions of where the wires should connect to on the greddy instructions....im kinda confused by that...could anyone explain specifically wat i should do? and where would be best? any help would be very much appreciated!! thanks alot!!

I wouldn't tap any lines, the dealer probably won't like that very much. You can get all of your power from the fusebox located underneath your steering column. For the ground, I ran a wire through the firewall and connected it to the factory ground point above the battery. For a point of reference on which fuses to use, check out the gauge installations on www.projectwrx.com

As far as the control module, I mounted that on one of the posts that hold down the battery, just find the right sized nut (I can't remember what size it was off the top of my head) and bolt it down.

Good luck with the install, you shouldn't have any problems.

I tapped off of the clock with both of my Greddy gauges. I don't remember the color of the wires off the top of my head but if you searched, you will find it. If i get enough time after work, I will pop the clock out and check the wires for you.

I had asked these questions some time ago. My post should answer which wire goes to which, if you decide to tap the clock. Just do a search on my user name. The installation is pretty easy, yet, I could not find away to have the gauge dim with the rest of the console.

If you want the light to dim with the console, you have to grab the illumination wire from the radio. There is actually an empty harness coming off the main harness to the radio. I believe the wire is purple...... but I haven't been back there for awhile so don't quote me on that

You can tap it to your turbo timer...
At least then you are not hacking up your factory wires.

if you look at the link i posted above to quantum racings site it tells which is 12v ignition .. #4 on fusebox. why does a turbo gauge need a parking brake signal? is it a turbo timer? the brake wire for that is mentioned in lots of posts - search for turbo timer install .. good luck

that's actually the way i have my monster tach installed. i too don't know why the boost gauge needs the parking brake wire tap, but that's what it says in the instructions. hmmm... i just don't know. does anybody know if the Greddy boost gauge will work correctly without the parking brake tap?

thanx again in advance!
