Default Auto-X: How to go from SM to STS... and prove I'm legal!

I've been auto-xing quite successfully at a local level with my cammed 2.5RS in SM. My skills have improved and it's time to get serious... I know that I won't compete with just cams in SM at a national level. I also know that I can't keep bumming co-drives for National Tours and whatnot... So, the cams have got to go. I'm headed back to STS.

My question is this:

Since I've posted on this board, and told national competitors at tours, etc... that I have cams, how to I prove that I took them out?

It's not that easy to tell that they are even in there, the idle is relatively unchanged, etc...

I pride myself on not cheating, and I don't want to be accused of it, so what do I do to prove it to my competitors? (Especially since I plan to be competitive.)

Do I take pictures of my engine ripped apart? Do I walk around with my reciepts for new cams stapled to my forehead?

I'd like any suggestions.

Thanks,

Corey #89 SM soon to be STS

Just take your cams out. The burden(sp) of proof is on the person that is protesting you. You don't have to prove that you have stock cams, the person that thinks you have aftermarket cams has to prove that. If you did take them out and TOLD the person that thinks you have them, that you did take them out, I would not worry about it one bit.

What he said.

They'd have to prove you have them, not the other way around. They'd have to fund the teardown and rebuild.

No worries.

If you want to avoid the hassle of a teardown over a protest, bring the old cams with you to autocrosses and set them near your car with a "for sale, removed from car to become STS legal" sign on them and a very high price (so as to not actually sell them till it sinks in with everyone). It's not proof or a guarantee that someone will not protest you, but it's sure a good way to ward off evil spirits.

Thanks for the response guys. I won't worry about it too much. Time to go list a set of cams for sale!

Nope, Sorry, Don't think so. I think it is a cheap move to post that you are taking them out but you won't.

Just kidding. When are you taking them out or are they already out and did Frank help you? Our STS class competition is going to be insane next year I can't wait. I think its great that you made the move back to STS. Did you ever run STS in your car?

Have you ordered a new suspension yet?
