Question 2003 Monte-Carlo Rally - Info needed !

Hi guys,

I'm leaving in January for 4 months of backpacking through Europe and want to be in Monaco for the Monte-Carlo Rally to have a taste of what FIA rallies are all about !... But as of now, I've had a hard time finding information... So could anyone help me out with the following...

1) I'm looking for cheap accomodation... basically around 10-15 Euros... This means probably hostels... I've seen cheap places in Nice (25 kms west of Monaco) and in Menton (12 kms east)... Any clues if this is the best to do or let me know of other places I should go?

2) How can I get to the stages not having a car?... I'm used to going to rallies in Canada and USA with my car, but without one, it seems like a lot of problems seeing good stages... Any options available specifically for Monaco that are not costly?... Or shall I just go for the good old hitching?

3) If anyone else plans to go and would like to join a fellow Canadian who speaks french/english and a little spanish is more than welcomed!

Thanks for the help!

You might want to try the world rally forums at www.rallyrallyrally.com. There are a lot more Eurpean users of that forum than there are here. I've seen quite a few accomodation/spectating questions there.

The site was down yesterday, but hopefully it'll be back up soon. Good luck!
