Default Tuning options in Alberta

Hi all,

I've had my WRX for over a year now, and I'm just about ready to start the engine mods. I'm looking at a full exhaust with an upgraded turbo (both likely from iON). Assuming I go with larger injectors and fuel pump, I'm going to need to change engine management.

My question is: what tuning options are available in Alberta? I like the concept of a re-programmed factory box, but can anyone in Alberta handle that? If not, what would be the best location to take it to? From what I know, I'd be looking at West Coast US for tuners.

TIA

fragment - if you want to have your OEM ECU re-tuned, there's 2 places in Canada. One is out east in T.O. the other is in Calgary. There's a Techom Dealer here.

You can also head down to Wa state or California to get the ECUTek reflash as well as the other option.

I've heard that before. Apparently Reg is AWESOME at tuning the Toyota's ECU's.

Subaru ECU's are a totally diff't ball game. Similar to Nissan ECU's. Very hard to tune, not as eay as just a re-flash. OEM Quality of manufacture is the problem. BE wary, but don't let it stop you.

Thanks for the replies guys.

For me, its more than just the access to equipment, but also the know how behind it. I suppose I'm thinking that if there is no local skill, then maybe I need to consider something like the UTEC. Of course, real performance data is still needed for meaningful changes...

This is giving me a headache

while we are on the topic of subaru ecu's.... subaru use 2 8bit chips while most toyota's, honda's,..etc use one 16bit chip. from what i've heard yeah reg at RCTS can remap our stock ecu's. expect to pay ~$1000. i've considered this but it is not ideal for me because i'm constantly changing stuff on my car... better off to get a standalone.

WHOA???
Reg does not do Techtom for Subaru's as the upgrade software is $9500US. Yes I asked him 6mths ago to do this.
He is presently in England talking with ECUTEK. He ask me for my ECU #. I took the car over last week and showed him the UTEC. Lets just say he was most impressed.

Get UTEC

BTW REG doesn't have a AWD dyno
