where can I buy sound-deadening mats (cheap)?
I'm going to install a 2.5midpipe(non-resonated) with a sheepdog muffler soon.
just want to decrease the noise level by putting some mats under the carpet... any comments / suggestions will be appreicated

Why? It's just gonna weigh your car down. save money. save weight. get a quieter exhaust. Just my smartass comment.

why sheepdog??cause the name...j/k
it's a used one from Derek Kong. Orbitier, I've read your post in the past about "great stuff" , i already applied it on door..and side of rear.... and it made a huge difference...especially on the highway.....but now the door seems like a bit heavier than b4......how do i tighten the door hinge???? i went to A&B sound b4, but those are not dynamat...it's other brand, but doesn't require pre-heating....any comments? also i might apply some chasis-reinforcing stuff.. ITW Foamseal previous msg thread about chasis-refinforcing. tmr, actually i want to modify the midpipe(put a resonator on)....... know how much it cost??? is there any way that i can make my impreza as quiet as lexus???(below 140km/h) [ June 13, 2001: Message edited by: yuusaku ] |

i like impreza, but just wanna make little improvement on it....
buying an impreza doesn't mean you have to accept every thing it is.... otherwise no body's gonna mod their car..right i believe you have at least 1 or 2 minor eh? |

Lexus?! I would rather drive a Subaru
The Sheepdog has a nice sound, but it's a good idea to minimize all the excessive interior noise with Dynamat so you can still enjoy the stereo |

Strong adhesive and roofing tiles
That's essentially what dynamat is. |

Okay, let me wake this thread, I'm going to add some sound deadening material to my car, I checked out A&B sound, they've got something that's call Hotmat noise killer, I have never tried any sound deadening material and I have no idea how good these are comparing to the Dynamat. As those of you said go to Home Depot for sound deadening material, I was never be able to find them at Home Depot. Which home depot did you guys go to? hehe... Thanks guys, BTW, those hot mats are 39.99 for like 17"x33"! D*mn expensive!
