Exclamation pcv valve

I dont know where this belongs, but here goes:

I did my own 30kmile service, and did everything I was supposed to do (change tranny fluid, rear diff fluid, flush the radiator, change the plugs...etc...). But I read somewhere you are supposed to swap out the pcv valve? Is it bad not to change this thing?

ps: I am at 43000miles now.

Someone help me out here

PCV Valve
Replacing the PCV valve at regular intervals can prevent rough idle, reduce oil consumption, and prevent air filter contamination. Suggested replacement interval is every 15,000 miles.

It's on www.subaruwrxparts.com "tune-up" section. Not expensive either. I've read somewhere that 50000 miles is ok. As long as it rattles when you shake it, then you're fine.

Hey Justin,
Changed mine out once already. It's about $15 (maybe 11 or 12 from Lisa). Pretty easy to swap out. Just undo the hose clamp, unscrew it, put the new one in, and refit the hose clamp. Mine was still fine when I changed it at 30k.

If you dont know where it is look on the passenger side of the TB, 19 mm wrench will be needed to get it out, and remember dont over tighten it, it doest really 'bottom out' you will be able to crack the TB if tighten it too much.
