Hesitation after ground mod?

I just did the ground wire mod, sanding paint off ground points and placing three 10ga wires from neg battery to shock tower, engine ground and near the headlight, and it immediately made a difference...smoother idle, more responsive off-throttle, more consistent through rev range, and that hesitation between 3300-4800 is gone.

Well, it WAS gone. For the first time in a week I noticed it hesitating a little between 3300-4800, just like it did before. I'm pretty bummed about this. Anyone else experience this? I'm wondering if it's bad gas (my tank was near empty a few days ago and I filled 4 gallons from some Happy Gas station or whatever) or perhaps the knock sensor working overtime?

Or is it in my imagination, or just part of life with Imprezas? My car, btw, is a Y2K 2.5RS with exhaust and K&N w/ 52000mi.

Well, my car is a little newer, and has about 1/10th the milage of yours, but I had the same problem.

I did the grounding mod and added grounds with 8 ga. wiring and gold connectors. Hesitation was gone, huzzah! Wait...no, it came back, and it was in the same RPM range that you were talking about, although it was better than before.

I honestly don't know what causes it. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. The most noticable time that the hesitation occurs is at near WOT, at around 3k RPM, when the engine kinda lags for a second, and then the engine ROARS and RPMS soar to 4k +.

It's odd.

If it doesn't go away after I put in my Ganzflow and Stromung catback, I'm going to get new spark-plugs put in. If that doesn't work, then... I dunno.

I have exhaust and intake...and new plugs....mine still does it.....weird..I just thought it was my car.
